I'm so pissed at MAC for not launching BBR today in time for the sale. I bought a bunch of stuff from Dame Edna and Chill collection yesterday and now I am so tempted to rebuy them online and return the items I bought to the store. I wasn't going to do that since I thought I would be able to use the 25% off on BBR.

But I am still shocked that people honestly thought MAC would give up all that $$$ and discount BBR...really I am...they so need to make up the profit loss from the last two collections...and that Lash thing...whatever that stuff was

If enough people complain and make the position known as far as the absolute ridiculous nature of this promotion and the subsequent pushing back of the release date, MAC may be chagrined enough to change it. They have gone back under pressure before.

I'm not sure what time (or if) I'll be over there..I'm going to a pole class and so. Yeah. But I work Thursday so...*shrug* We'll see.

I have a Laura Mercier Smudge Brush, and a Smashbox smudge brush that are both very similar to the 214, IMO. At least close enough for me.

I have several crease brushes that are very close to the 226 - the Laura Mercier Eye Crease brush (same shape, just a little shorter bristles, it looks like) and another one from a private label brush line from an MA called Tina Earnshaw.

I'm good.

Don't get me wrong, I am sure these new MAC brushes are wonderful, but I have such a large brush collection, and I have high quality brushes that already fit the bill.

^^ I honestly only personally buy my brushes at the CCO ... I am just over paying that much and shipping charges....But I think I have every one now since Christmas..some I probably won't or can't utilize...My sis hit up quite a few CCO's for brushes over the holiday

it's funny how mac is pissing us off by having a sale. mac has been having some serious problems with their planning & management (remember manish arora last year?). i mean, they could have easily started the sale last week and ended it by last thursday (or just have a one day sale on new year's day). that way the sale would be a pleasant supprise with no frustrated mac addicts and confusions around the last minute schedule changes. sigh...

They have always been screwy with planning and doing what they SAY they will do as long as I have been shopping with them.

I remember a year or so ago, they did something just like this and said it would not be coming out for a few days. I waited the few days and found out that it came in ONE HOUR AFTER I SPOKE WITH THEM, and sold out that very day - got a few more the next day and GONE! I was so upset.

This time around, however, I noticed that they are relocating to a bigger facility. I assume that this sale is not the helpless cry b/c of economic hardship but simply clearing out of inventory so they don't have as much to move to the new facility.

they are having no quick shipping and have warnings of slow shipping times right now, so I take that to mean that this sale is nothing more than an idea to help them move stuff out so they can make this new transfer more efficiently.

As long as they don't change their mind and release the BBR unexpectedly and I miss it AGAIN I will be content, although irritated b/c I am sure a lot of the regular stuff I needed to replace in my kit will probably be OOS so that ruinS MY plan to get what I need besides BBR.

Oh well.

I can see the sense in this...they know ppl are gonna want to buy HK & BBR more so than DE...imo...I only bought dame Edna online today because of the 25% off & free shipping...since no pro discount...my chill collection stuff I bought in store for the pro discount..although it was more trbl than it is worth...I was determined not to pay full price for DE...since I only wanted a couple things..I got the eyeshadow trios & ls & lg....

so is there is a final word on whether or not it will be launched this Thursday in stores? I called the only two freestanding stores here in AZ (Fashion Square and Biltmore) and Fashion Square said that they didn't have the displays yet and they didn't know (thanks for being so helpful?

).. Then I called the Biltmore, which is a much more reliable store, and the girl (the manager) said, very positively, that it would be available on Thursday.. But with all this uncertain talk I feel like I should call and double check

and p.s. I am so mad I didn't know about this sale last night!! I could have finally gotten the 109 and 217 brush

BUT now the 217 is sold out..

Maybe another time.

Edited because my post posted WAY late... Definitely annoyed because this seems underhanded. Yes, it's a sale and that's awesome because MAC hardly ever has sales. But to put the sale stuff back to original prices for F&F...weak. To delay the release of BBR (regardless of the F&F)...super weak. I never order online and I was going to place a pretty big order today, but the sneaky MAC shenanigans has really turned me off. No thanks

This is beyond frustrating. I've called 3 stores in my area and was told they don't have their shipment in and their doing inventory at the moment and trying to track down where BBR is. So I was told to call back tomorrow just to make sure they will have it in time for Thursday. I'm getting the feeling they won't have it in time. The only good thing is one store said they would hold stuff for me if I called back tomorrow and they would hold it for me when it finally came in. Stupid MAC!

In this economy...most companies would die for people so willing to spend their money on their products so why is MAC pissing off it's customers? Honestly! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

I am pretty annoyed & to make matters worse for people like me *lives in a black hole* who cannot see these collections at a store or counter...

...I got to go to a Nordies on Sat. - 1 hour & 15 min. away from where I live - so on the way there, I called the MAC counter & asked if they had the BBR for me to look at & the dude said "no, if we did I would love to show it to you". So I get there and asked one of the MAC girls & she tells me a different story.."oh yeah we have it, but I can't show it to you" ????

Lie or what? It really puts me & others at a disadvantage to know what we want to buy online.

The last f&f sale happened like a few days after Cool Heat was released, I remember being bummed that I'd just bought all the e/s for full-price. The whole sale thing now just doesn't make sense, because if we all spend our money on the sale, we won't have any for BBR. Or they could have offered less % off and included BBR, because they need sales - but this is just deterring us from wanting to buy MAC. I'm upset that they're getting kind of cheap w/ products and then pulling stunts like this so they can conveniently exclude the collection. But people still want to buy it today, regardless of the discount. ARGGGH.
