I stopped into the LA PRO STORE today. They have all the BBR items but the displayer hasn't come in yet.
They let me play with everything and I gotta say. "EHH." Everything is pretty but pretty dupable and I didn't buy anything. Everything reminded me of something else or was just stuff I knew I wouldn't wear.

Henna is totally Sumptuous Olive same finish and everything.
Red Devil reminds me of Lychee Luxe.
The MSF's were pretty but I practically forgot about them before I left the store.

I thought about purchasing all the items that I knew would sellout right away "just to have them" or maybe sell them and I thought... "why am I doing this?"
Really, I had come in to buy their Invisible Set Powder and they were out of it.

Why can't MAC be like NARS - when NARS comes out with a new color - it's now part of the line. And when things don't sell - eventually they get rid of the color.

I am not going to be part of the hype anymore. I'm not going to be "afraid" of not getting the new LE stuff anymore. What a waste of energy! I mean I love Specktra, I love makeup, I love finding new variations of color but I feel like I'm being jerked around by MAC.

I'm happy to have 25% off offered to me - I'll stock up on staples... brush cleanser, primer, mascara and new brush or two... but I don't think I'm going to be buying anymore LE stuff from MAC - if the color/finish/texture or combo there of - is so great - make it perm.

I was bummed that BBR wasn't released today because I was going to do my first major online haul. It's okay because now that I saw abby13s haul and the one from the video, I have managed to narrow down my list to include
Henna
100 Strokes
French Cuff
Femme Fi
Strawberry Blonde

and if I decide exchange to do an exhange on a gift I got

Brunette MSF

I went to the Toronto MAC Pro Store today and got a quick peek of the collection. I am not interested in any of the eyeshadows (though in my opinion, the shadows in Redhead are my favourite).. I B2M for the Brunette Lipstick in Chignon.. such a nice purple!! I wanted to get What a Do... but they were sold out!! WTF
Anyway.. I would like just about all of the lip products from each hair thingy.

I swatched brunette MSF and its quite nice.. I would get it in time. I was rushed as I was on my hour lunch and the stupid streetcar got messed up so I had to walk the rest of the way to the Pro Store.
So I hear the collection is out on Thursday I will be @ PATH MAC @ 730 in the morning to get what I want! woot!

Yeah! I was also bummed about the 239 and 217 being sold out but at least I got a 188 and a 222, I hope this is good for me since I have small eyes... blah, I figured I'd rather get these now with the sale and even though I know the 226 is supposed to be great, I thought that at least I got perm brushes with a sale price.

and since I was very good about not getting anything from Chill, Dame Edna, and Holiday, as a NC 25, I pre-ordered:
-Redhead MSF: gorgeous! since I don't have any MSFs anyways and I don't need another pink blush (blonde MSF) or bronzer (brunette MSF)
- Live and Dye: so pretty! since I don't have any pinks like this anyways, I remember how Erine recommended this one, I think
- Blow Dry
... didn't want to get caught up with anything else because MAC has a lot of my money now and I'm going to wait for Hello Kitty

I'm sorry to bother you ernie, but I was wondering if you could tell me which products from BBR can be easily duped. Or which ones cannot be duped. I want a lot of things, but I only want to get things that unique enough to buy without having a dupe floating around out there. Thanks in advance!!

Unfortunately I added in the MSF. Only if I exchange it for something I received that I am still unsure about.

if you want it more pink, i'd go with seedy pearl. but, if you want just a slight hint of pink, pincurl it is.

oh, no bother. i posted swatches a couple days ago comparing the shadows with their closest dupe. check em out!

i might (most probably) be wrong about this, but is pincurl somehow like nanogold? i don't mean in terms of color. but you know how nanogold doesn't look pink at all in the pan (just some slight pink pearl, or something like that). but whenever it put it on my lid (with too faced shadow insurance), it'll just look pink on me.

^^^it is a duochrome, so yeah, it doesn't look pink in the pan. it looks more like vex, only a bit whiter. but when you swatch it, and look at it at different angles, the color changes.

i guess it depends on how your skin reacts with certain colors as to how it will look on you.

You really think Henna is different enough from SO and Mink & Sable to buy it? That is the one color that is haunting me that I'm having a hard time keeping off my list. Its just so pretty in every picture I've seen

^^^i do. even if colors are similar, i always see the difference between them. henna is more gold, so i see myself pairing with other golds, browns, softer oranges. you'd be able to pair it with more earthtones and have it show gold than you would with SO-SO would still be more green if paired with earthtones.

does that make sense?

I whooped out my handy dandy excel sheets and box o' lip/plush/lustreglasses and am now down to just the blond and redhead msf's. I figure those will be safe for me since they are not swirled like the other's so I won't spend all day comparing each one to find "the one". Stripes make me less OCD about buying these for some reason.

I don't even use the 224 I have now, so I can probably skip the 226. I'll decide on that one Thursday.
