Re: MAC - Brunette Blonde Redhead Collection Discussion (Hair was WN)
Hurray! I got my BBR, and I ended up spending a lot more than I planned, but it's for the best...or so I keep telling myself!
I got:
-Henna - This is much more olive than I wanted, but there's also a nice hint of gold in it that makes it worth it, since I don't have sumptuous olive. And like I said before, the name makes it worth it- I'm that shallow.
-Pincurl- Wasn't sure about this one, as it looks a little unusual- it's basically like Vellum w/ the duochrome/iridescent but gray, and I think it will look hot in a smokey eye- my MA was wearing it, I think with top knot and it looked great- definitely sold on it.
-Top Knot- This shows up black pretty much on me (NC15-20), but I love Beauty Marked, Cloudburst, basically every black-ish color, so I don't really mind. I think if you a) pack on the color or b) use a good blue-based base it will show up. Regardless I'm thinking smokey eye with this one!
-100 Strokes- Meh, not that amazing but I bought it anyways.
It is kind of like maybe what Beauty Marked should have been-dark, with an edge of black but still red also- and the texture seems better than Sketch, at least for me.
-Redhead MSF- I wasn't really impressed with any of the MSF, except this one mostly. It is a light peach which is exactly the hue I want for my fair skin- not too dark.
-Soft Wave- All the lipglass impressed me TONS! I was not going to get ANY until I saw them IRL- wow! Beautiful! I selected this color b/c the gold is unique for my usual tastes and it's soft and subtle.
-Peroxide- Again, I don't really have anything *too* similar so I thought it would be a nice safe color. It's not super unique but I think it looks good on me!
-Marquise D'- Agghh I hate lustres/glazes but I love nudes since I b2m'd for it, what the hell. I can't think of much in the perm that is like it, so it's kind of like a nude but with a hint of peachy-pink.
-What A Do- Never would have considered it without first seeing it. It's like Honey Lust in lipstick- darker than Gel l/s, but same concept. Very pretty and another b2m.
-226 - Yes Yes Yes! A-freaking-mazing! I cannot wait to work this into my crease. I have to say this is what the MAC brushes have been missing for sooo long- I've been using a Chanel #12 for the same purpose, but always wished MAC had one like this. It is a must.
-165- Great brush for contouring, or applying MSFs. It's like the 226 but giant, for the face. Yay! I love!
Honorable Mentions:
-Live & Dye: Beautiful, lighter than Prr but in the same family. I liked it but I already have Prr so I will pass for now.
-Red Devil: Beautiful and verrryyyyy tempting, but I have Shine Manish and have yet to use it so again, I will wait.
-Blow Dry: So pretty, but I do not like the finish for my highly pigmented lips. Corals are amazing though, so check this one out!
-214: If you don't have a brush like this, it is a must. It is AMAZING in smudging liner- I use a Smashbox version, and I simply dab a little bit of smolder pencil on my eye line, and smudge it out- voila! It is 10x better than the 219, as I feel the hairs on the 219 give a little too much.
So, after my Nordstrom note and b2m I spent $144- Not bad, but my poor husband!
