Prep and Prime Lip is AWESOME stuff. I find that when I use it I don't have to worry about l/s settling in lip lines and it makes my wear time better.
Yeah I think there will be another restock. I'm sure customer service reps aren't always "in-the-know" with a company as large as MAC, the trickling of information isn't broadcast at all times, so I'm sure by default reps just say "no restock, that's it".

Maybe it is case sensitive, new20 just worked.

I think the issue is that the NEW20 code may be email specific. I'm signed up to receive ASOS newsletters and I got the code emailed to me. I tested it and it works. This is what the fine print says:

Enter promo code NEW20 at checkout. Valid on full priced items only and some exclusions may apply. Valid until 11:59pm PST Sunday 12th August. Maximum spend $825. Code can only be used once, when logged into the ASOS.com account this email is registered to. Offer excludes marked down items, certain brands, gift vouchers, and delivery charges. Only one promo code can be used per order.

That must be the problem, I wasn't signed up before. Bummer, I was going to get a blouse and a handbag too.

I think I need to pick some up as well. I hardly ever wear lip liners because of the dryness. I agree- half of it is marketing and half of it is the customer service representatives not being told everything. At most jobs, whoever is answering the phone has no power and they're just there to relay the message the highers up have given them. I would know, I've had too many jobs answering the phone

I just called MAC to propose a "What if" situation if i didn't have a lipstick i ordered come in the box.I spoke to a rep and also a supervisor and both said this:

basically when they released, they sold out. they went back and did a final count, and they had extra, and so they sold out of that. And then they are in the process of doing a recount again, so if they do have extras then they will ship. otherwise for the next 48 hours they cannot say or guarantee a lipstick because there may be none available.

I want to see if that girl actually gets one or did someone just promise her one unknowingly if they had any or not.

But see that's the thing here, another member didn't get her CYY and they refunded her the money, yet this one will get one. What sense does that make?!
Ok so now the refunded customer actually called back and will get one as well. It's a shame that it makes a difference in who you talk to.

From Live Journal!!

So I just got home to find a lovely little black box sitting on my porch that I thought would have my candy yum yum in it.
I rush inside to open it up -- and it's empty!! Just the receipt and the black tissue paper. No lipstick!!! I almost flew into a rage
thinking that if I called them the best they could do was just offer me a refund considering it's 'sold out'.. When i called up Mac customer
service to alert them to their little error, the girl profusely apologized and then told me she would be sending me another one. I asked her
how is that possible considering it's completely sold out on the website and they said they would not be restocking. She said they still have
plenty more, even though they won't be restocking. I really don't get it. I'm glad they are able to send me one, but why are they not restocking
if they have "plenty more?"

This is ridiculous!
WHOA! Not again!

And they have more???? How is that possible?

I need my box to hurry up and get here! I want to be able to get a replacement while they still have extras if there are issues.

Prep+Prime lip makes everything (Mac or not) go on much better. I think everyone should have it. It's especially helpful for a color like CYY which I could never, ever wear before buying P+P. I don't use a liner w/ CYY, but it wouldn't hurt. I'm big on not changing the color of the lipstick, though so I would use a similar color just to give my lips real definition around the edges. I like the mufe aqua lip liners, so I might just pick one up in a hot pink shade.

I'm the same way. I don't like altering the lipstick color too much. I like the defined look that a liner gives you, so I try to match the color unless I'm going for a different effect. Hmm, I guess that would explain why I have so many liners.

You mean like with the Viva Glam lipsticks? Making it available for only a year? That's a great idea. It keeps its LE cult status, and would still be available long enough for people to buy it. The only thing I could see is the frenzy that will follow when the season comes to an end. But everyone would've had a year to get it at that point, so there should be no complaints.
I think that's a great idea but of course it won't happen.

VG is for a special cause and LE is LE.

Oh well ....

Shontay,

Thanks for that.

Also, Thanks to all the P&P suggestions.

I'll give it a try.

Maybe they should repromote really popular shades for VG. That way they get more for charity. Maybe 4 times a year change. Would help their cause be good for publicity and people would have a few months to buy and try then back up if need be. Mac might not profit but it's good for the cause and their brand.

All,

Thanks for the liner suggestions!

When I bust out my new lippies I will give some of the new liners a try.

Right now - they are going in my b/u stash.

So pissed at UPS in NYC! I never had problems in Houston. I "missed" delivery twice and I was at home yesterday AND today! I called in a complaint both times and the rep said she would try to get him to come back out today. I tested the buzzer on my apt and even the rep said she could hear it was loud. Plus, FedEx delivered something yesterday and I had no problems hearing it. Something's not adding up....

I can't stand UPS. FedEx is so much better. Sometimes, UPS is running late so they don't get to you, but they'll say you missed the delivery. I've caught a couple running off after ringing the doorbell only once. I've been through it with them, so you're not alone drammy. I just wish I had the option of FedEx for all my online orders.
