The only time I've worn Snowscene on its own was when I first got it; I slapped it on over bare lips, just to see what it looked like.
It looked pretty; very sparkly and ethereal, but very pale; too pale for me on its own.
YMMV, of course.

Helping with the Frozen Dream love! I adore it too

I got Arctic Grey, Wintersky and Vellum from this collection. AG is one of the few silvers I can wear (probably because it's so sheer, so I don't mind that it's a lustre). Wintersky is just adorable and kind of odd as pinks usually tend to look awful on me. This brightens up my eyes even on its own. Vellum is a nice colour, but a little chalky. Might pass this one on once I've compared it to Pincurl.

I've been thinking of getting Mont Black, but has anyone compared it to the black-ish colour in the Devoted Poppy (holiday 2008 classic) palette? I have the latter and don't see any point in getting MB if it's a dupe. I'm also tempted by Illegal Cargo from last spring's Naughty Nauticals coll. but how close does that come to Wintersky? I'm probably around NC20 if that has any significance.

Almost forgot that I did indeed get the Penultimate liner, but only tried it once before deciding to pass it on. I used liquid liners on a daily basis from late 90's to early 00's but can't get the hang of it anymore. Fluidlines and soft pencils are just so much easier to handle. Penultimate did seem pigmented enough, pretty precise, didn't irritate my eyes or clump my lashes, stayed on nicely and applied evenly. My hand is just way too shaky to handle a liquid liner in the morning nowadays.

I like Pincurl more than Vellum. Feel free to shoot me if you disagree. Also, for a white that sort of shines blue, Frozen White pigment does the trick for me, and a pigment sample is a whole lot cheaper than a shadow. Mont Black is just a black with sparkles that don't necessarily show up once applied to skin, so, whatever. It can just sit there. Illegal Cargo is NOTHING like Wintersky!!!! Illegal Cargo is a pretty soft muted purpley colour and I LOVE it! The closest thing I can think of to Illegal Cargo is Shale from the perm collection.

Thanks, Sanayhs! I'll be skipping Mont Black then, but I better get Illegal Cargo before it's gone. I'm getting my BBR haul soon and will see which one stays and which goes, Vellum or Pincurl, but in any case won't be shooting you for giving your opinion.

I wanted to buy Frozen Dream last night... but then I compared it to Cultured, which I already have, and they are very similar, with Frozen Dream a touch paler and cooler. I love Cultured... but... I don't really *need* two shades that are so similar... do i?

No, you don't. The difference on the lips won't be much at all, so to have both would be silly.

Well....I'm happy to read that I'm not the only one with lips that do Snowscene no justice. And, after reading Penultimate reviews on MUA it seemed that while many people raved about how great the liner is and how easily it flows, there were some who had the same experience as I did - a hard tip that you had to press on really hard to get anything to come out of (hence my poke in the eye). I decided to order another and voila - I got a much better one! My skipping and crooked lines were not due to the pathetic-ness of my skills or my crepey old lids, as I'd thought, but to the fact that I'd received a bad Penultimate. I'm very happy with my second one.

If anyone else is having major problems with the liner, give it a try with another one before giving up!

I tried to love the penultimate liner when i went to the store but i'm always crappy with liquid liners so i guess i'm sticking with fluidline

I tried to love it but i know i don't have any skills with them liners, my hands aren't steady as much as i would love them to be.

I also have to wear something under snowscene otherewise it just looks like blue glitter on my lips

I am lemming vellum since I saw it last Saturday. I want to use it with smoky blue eyes.

Finally I did have time to look at the collection and I love the Penultimate Liner. Really, really do. It is very black and stays (at least on me). Although I would not recommend wearing it for watching Titanic and the likes except you are out for a spectacle.
Probably need some more training, but so far I love it.

Also Snowscene is very pretty, but on me, w/o any lipstick it looks like I drowned in glitter. But with a red lipstick underneath it is wow.

For anyone that has Mont Black and Black Tied, which one do you prefer? TIA

These are a little different on me....It depends on how much you like the color IMO...I have so many l/g and l/s that are similar.... snowscene is similar to Sugarrimmed...but hell I have them both...I look at my l/s and l/g and hell they all look alike after a while

Well, you may continue to love Vellum more. JEANETTE, LOOK AWAY! I happen to like the grey base colour of it, and the fact that it's a really pretty soft grey when I put it over a decent base. It was really unlike anything else I happen to own, especially when you factor in the pink sheen.

Well... I think you can't compare them

Black Tied is stronger for me and has an awesome silver sparkle. It looks gorgeous for deep smokey eyes I think.

Mont Black is a softer black with a nice soft gold shimmer on me.

And... you already know... I love them both
