MAC - Colour Forms Discussion

Re: Colour Forms Collection Discussion Thread

I'm still debating on the advanced brush set. I really want a 187 for travel, because the handle on mine is just a little too long to bring in my travel makeup bag (I have an old Bare Essentials one, and I must say it is awesome, except for the space for brushes being a little short... ahhh well, this is the only brush that I can't get a short handle one that would work).

I have heard mixed feeling on the LE brushes. I understand that the quality is not quite on par to the non-LE ones, but are they good enough for travel, where they are not being used everyday?

CCBs are Cream Colour Bases. Take a look here:

What does Royal Flush remind you of?

It looks like you can mix a dark apricot and cranberry eyes and makes this color. So intrigued.

Having said that, I really did like it, and that's saying a lot from a non-palette kinda gal! I think this just might become my favourite palette to date, with Inventive Eyes a close second.

lol, the best enablers don't mean to be! I put my reserve in at Hillcrest. Now I'm even pondering Cool Eyes...

I was not too impressed with it. It is a light chocolate brown with a hint of sparkle to it. reminds me of dirt actually.

Royal flush is a coppery red, definitely can see the orange tones in it. From what I saw, the texture was pretty workable and not all that chunky. I think it is pretty unique

Well for the full-size brushes, it would cost nearly $150 for the entire collection. So $50 is a steal, but you're right, they aren't the same quality. I guess for a third of the cost, they can't really be expected to be. However, I think if you're using them for travel, for touch ups on the go, etc., they are a great idea. Also, that means you don't have to bring your higher quality, expensive brushes all over the place, and risk losing them somewhere (which i have done, unfortunately!). They will certainly get the job done, but don't be surprised if a few hairs fall out or the paint chips. Other than that, it should be worth it so they'll fit in your bag!

So yesterday I went and saw it and did my preorder. My MAC girl did a really cool look, well actually several different ones on me, and the winner was Royal Flush pigment on the lid and then a diagonal stripe of Gilded Green. It looked AMAZING. I preordered those and the Warm Lips palette. Circa Plum disappointed me...it was way too grey for my liking. I could end up with Tea Time later on though.

I'm sorry to hear the shorter handled brushes aren't as well made. I like shorter handles...they're easier to handle, for me. Maybe I'm just clumsy. lol. Of course my shorter-handled brushes are cheap from Target, but I like them.

Yeah, I thought it would be a good chocolately brown that I would use forever, but I guess not.

I'm with you, I love shorter handles. I have bad hand-eye coordination so having a full-sized brush would be a lot more difficult for me. More control=better looks.

I actually don't mind that Tea Time looks earthy with some reddish tones and such. It looks pretty much what I expected it to look like - tea leaves! I thought Magnetic fields would look like a blackened Tea Time tbh (don't know where that idea came from tho!), so I'm happy with how TT is!

Sooo is Tea Time like Emerald Green, Bell Bottom Blue, etc??? Having dirt looking pigment on my eyes doesn't sound too attractive.
