Re: Cool Heat Discussion
Disclaimer: I am not, nor have I ever been, under the employ of, nor affiliated with, in any way, with the infamous, Audrey Nicole of “Pimping the Plumage” Fame!
Having stated that - I, strongly, urge anyone who’s unfamiliar with Plumage to run and not walk to get this shadow! Especially, if your, even remotely, considering anything from the Cool Heat collection.
Plumage, completely, stepped up my game with the new collection of blues & greens.
I was playing with the new colors after another visit to MAC, to pick up that second Sprout I was telling you all about the other day (feeling quite greedy). I caved and bought Warming Trend and Warm Chill. I’m so glad I did, this one’s a keeper! I, definitely, preferred this to Patina.
I brought
Aquavert along to the store to swatch along side Warm CHill. They're very, very similar - almost dead on
. I bought a
Warm Chill anyway, deciding that it was, in fact, the Fabulous 1960’s “Valley of the Dolls” pale green shade I’ve been looking for all my life, after all! Especially, when I put it over
Greenstroke Paint Pot.
Do I have Audrey to thank for that too?
I made a very interesting self-discovery when executing two different looks on both my eyes. On one eye, I applied Cash Flow as a base with Warming Trend over it – which proved to be the perfect base for it. Cash Flow and Warming Trend are made for one another (another reason why I purchased a backup of WT)
Then on the other eye, I applied Urban Decay’s Primer Potion as a base with Solar White over that.
Both eyes looked almost, exactly, the same with Solar White applied solely over UDPP – it was shocking! Then, along with the other colors applied, you wouldn’t have known the difference. This was very interesting to me. Solar White really does remind me of Gold Dusk Piggie, but with more shimmer & iridescence to it…fascinating color!
Climate Blue is just sooooo user friendly and blends ‘n’ smoke out so nicely. Just this unbelievable twilight blue that really compliments all the other colors very well.
Gulf Stream does its thing in the crease as
Plumage really takes it there into a sultry evening look. I’m a little surprised they didn’t repromote it for this collection!
As always, for me no look of mine is complete without a dappling of Reflects Glitter under the brow and on the lids. Pure unadulterated Glamour!!! In Gold it really sets all of these colors off in the most whimsical way.
(cough...Drag Queen...cough, cough!)
The Gold Reflect on Climate Blue on top of Solar White really did remind me of a “Twilight Time” sky.
I’ve never seen colors like this before in makeup. I felt like, Arial, the Little Mermaid. The finished look had this stunning exotic tropical fish effect! A FishFace…
noooo...? I know that sounds weird doesn’t it? It looked cool, though!
GULF STREAM LOOK:
Cash Flow – All over – lash to brow
Waming Trend – All over – lash to brow – more concentrated on inner lid area (add Fix+ if necessary to intensify effect)
Warm Chill – Inner crease and just above whole crease for contrast
Gulf Stream – Outer crease blended to inner crease and lower bottom lash line – and outer 2/3 of lid to accentuate
Warming Trend color on inner lid
Plumage - Outer V and smoked - with a trace to contrast and outline
Gulf Stream and
Warm Chill out to inner crease
Gold Reflects Glitter – Below brows and on lids to highlight
CLIMATE BLUE LOOK:
UDPP- All over – lash to brow
Solar White - All over – lash to brow - and inner corner of bottom lash line area
Parfait Armour - Inner crease and just above whole crease for contrast –
( This color, really had no business with a “Cool Heat” look, but I was, simply, experimenting with its harmony to
Climate Blue, which, of course, they became fast friends. For a true “Cool Heat” look, though, I would’ve used a different inner crease color to blend in with
Climate Blue. If anyone dares to try this look, maybe they could give me some suggestions. The idea was to use “Cool Heat” colors, though. Maybe, Warming Trend, over the continued line of Climate Blue into the inner crease to mute or change the blue tone?
Climate Blue - Smoked in the Outer crease - blended to inner crease and lower bottom lash line –
Gulf Stream- Outer crease blended to inner crease and trace on lower inner bottom lash line – and outer 2/3 of lid to accentuate
Solar White color on inner lid
Plumage - Outer V and smoked to tie
Gulf Stream and
Climate Blue together –
Climate Blue should be the “standout” color only deepened in outer crease V to marry the pure bright color of
Gulf Stream applied on outer 2/3 lid
Gold Reflects Glitter - Below brows and on lids to highlight
Both looks were finished up with the usual suspects!
I'm going to post photos of these looks on me soon,
even if it kills me, which it probably will!
Still playing, still inspired!
P.S. Our Hillsdale Store is sold out of Climate Blue as of Sunday June 15!!!
P.S.S. Do you think Solar White was a rollover concept name that should’ve been more aptly used for the Neo Sci-Fi Collection?
