exactly. frosts aren't gritty or chalky. velvets are like that, like beauty marked and black tied.

I guess it depends on the frost shadow cuz they are not all made equal. That goes for Veluxe Pearls too. i.e. Beautiful Iris does not show up very much on me but the other colors do.

being a vp means it has a very shiney pearl-like finish, not that you get alot of color. beautiful iris is a vp, but its also a very soft, light purple. it hardly shows up on my nc20/nw20 skin. tho it lacks alot of color, its very soft and has that high shine finish that vps have.

You probably know the textures better? Can it happen that an e/s is wrong labeled?

they can be mislabeled and has been occuring quite frequently lately.
so i would go by how colors swatch, and not what they are labeled.

I honestly know its a frost, I mean why would MAC lie and say it is ONLINE and on the back of the pot, ya know? Doesn't make sense to me. It even feels like a Frost compared to my other frost shadows. Its hard to pack on and blend. Its gritty. Although some frosts work better than others - thats a given.
|
correct, it is labeled a frost on the back, as well as online, and in my update book. but they didn't LIE, they were just mistaken when they labeled it, that's all. if its hard to pack on, hard to blend, and gritty, thats the description of a velvet. think about it. it packs and blends just like beauty marked, black tied, and trax, right? those are also velvets. frosts, on the other hand, have high shine and apply somewhat thick, such as phloof, nylon, swish, pink freeze, amber lights, naked lunch, and others. you can't miss a frost when you see it.

its not close. i posted some pics 1-2 pages back. climate blue kinda looks like jeweltone (as someone mentioned based on pics leaked on temptalia) in the pot, but swatches much more blue. and this too is a velvet, just like jeweltone.
