Hello im new on here! I was excited to see this thread but im sorry i have to admit i was disappointed to see that its probably going to be Aretha Franklin

Popular opinion has little weight in how MAC selects Icons. The story behind Icons is usually centered around longevity of career, movements the person has been involved in that have helped to change people's lives, any philanthropic work the Icon has done, and the singular feminine essence of that person.

I respect Aretha, and think shes a great musician and I know shes an icon.

That being said, i would have never guessed her, and I cant really say Im excited either. But Im also 19 and dont listen to her music. Soooo

Hmmm I like Aretha but I'm not jumping out of my set about the news. Did anyone else hear that she got way pissed and butt hurt because Beyonce refered to Tina Turner as the Queen and not her, Aretha?? Big big ego.

I was totally thinking about Aretha Franklin and Dolly would be an awesome choice. Seriously im with you on that if they pick britney, madonna, and bjork. Cher isnt so bad. We may get good colors out of it.

Aretha is a hot one but not what i expected. I guess we would have to see what MAC will come up with!! i cant really imagine a color scheme though! i would like to see Gwen Stefani or better yet Tina Turner would be madness!!
