MAC Early Buzz - news on products for 2012

Karen has swatched the originals. I believe Temptalia said she swatched samples of the new ones, sent to her by MAC. This could make a difference in some of the swatches, if they've changed the recipe a little in some of the items, and it could explain why Cool Heat had good payoff for her, and Shadowy Lady's did not

Jete is sooooooo pretty to me. Any dupes? I think I am the only one voting for it. LOL. Is Deckchair pigment like that? Maybe I need to hunt that down.

I don't think there are too many dupes out there for Jete. While it is a neutral color, it has something very special about it. And the original had a very nice sheen (not too frosty), which seems to be the same in the repromote. Yeah.

While I can see that Guacamole is an interesting shade (or Cool Heat for that matter), it is one of those colors that you wear once or twice and then put it aside as you get tired of it (like with most blues or greens, e.g. Surf USA or Jealousy Wakes, which are both pretty shades - just not for every day). I actually find it harder to find good everyday nudes than good unusual colors.

I'm surprised that nobody remembers Flash of Flesh... I can't possibly be the only one that bought that gloss. LOL

I totally agree with you. I would wear Jete so much, I would need several BU for this shade. Just like I fly through Melon pigment. The ONLY piggie I have ACTUALLY ran out of and bought again. LOL!

If Guacamole gets in, I would buy just one. It is just ok from the swatch. Looks like Swimming to me.

Wow, all of the eyeshadows look super lovely. At this point, I'm a fan of all of them, and I'll be happy with whichever three are voted in. The lipglasses are a different story. CoC is the only one I like.

My Cool Heat looks more teal than in Temptalia's and absolutely not as buttery as in T and Karen's swatches.
It's not really chalky, but somehow it's really densely packed in the pan. I could easily pick it up with my finger and the brush, but then most of it sticks to my finger/brush, rather than where I apply it.
I do really like the look of Solar White, Jete and HB look lovely, but hardly original.
All these shadows look so buttery, wish all of them would just get released.

Flesh of Flesh indeed looks really nice. Definitely more interesting than 2N :S

I actually quite like Cool Heat, I find it very pigmented and smooth.

I actually quite like Eden Rocks, but I prefer Moxie and Rocker over it. Oh dear.

I like the look of these lipsticks from Temptalia's swatches. Now I know I must have Moxie, I was worried it would be too close to Quick Sizzle but it looks nothing like QS. Rocker is pretty I thought it would be darker more blood looking, but since my lips are so pigmented it would probably run a little darker on me anyway and I love the shimmer in it. CYY is still a must own. 3N did not look very special to me therefore it must be dethroned lol

I am going to alternate my votes between Jete and Solar White, Rocker and Shitaki, and FoF and CoC. I would also rock votes for CYY, but there are plenty folks doing that alreday. Also, I would really like to see Moth Brown brought back, but I am thinking there are plenty of other folks voting for it also.

Honestly I don't get the repromote of so many nudes and bright pinks. I don't get including Moxie and CYY at the same time especially after the recent releases of so many bright matte lippies that are similar/in the same family (IA, S3 C3). And I never understood the hype on CYY. I have it. It is OK but glitter doesn't fly out of the air and rainbows and unicorns don't come out every time someone wears it.

Having said that let me tell you that Rocker is my favorite MAC lipstick of all time. I have been wearing this for years and hoard it like crazy. It is one of those shades that can look great on everyone and I have worn it with every hair color and skin tones from alabaster to Jersey Shore tan. It is amazing on WOC as well (as evidenced by that lovely swatch shot someone posted). If I have my way they will bury me with this on my lips.

I have only been voting for CoC in the gloss category. I have it and it is gorgeous. Having now seen the swatches on T's site I will now vote for FoF. I don't remember that one but it is so pretty.

I agree with those who say T's Cool Heat looks different. Mine is much more teal than the pictures of hers. BTW, MAC Guy, I am Team Jete for sure.
