MAC Early Buzz - news on products for 2012

I do understand the hype (as in "must-have-CYY"), though I doubt that those who have it (or intend to be first-time buyers) will wear it very often. It is a fun color on occasion, but there are plenty of other bright pinks (as you pointed out). When CYY came out, it was certainly more unique than today, where we have so many neon pinks from IA and Shop MAC.

But if the majority wants CYY, that's fine too. After all, MAC should produce the lippies where the make the most money. Not only by selling, but also by creating a general hype around the brand - and CYY is probably the right lippie for that purpose, especially if quantities are limited. Once you missed out on a hyped product, sooner or later you become a notorious stalker and order everything as soon as it is uploaded to the site so you don't miss out again - and in this process you spend much more than you normally would spend. I always admire clever marketing.

Honestly I don't get the repromote of so many nudes and bright pinks. I don't get including Moxie and CYY at the same time especially after the recent releases of so many bright matte lippies that are similar/in the same family (IA, S3 C3). And I never understood the hype on CYY. I have it. It is OK but glitter doesn't fly out of the air and rainbows and unicorns don't come out every time someone wears it.

Having said that let me tell you that Rocker is my favorite MAC lipstick of all time. I have been wearing this for years and hoard it like crazy. It is one of those shades that can look great on everyone and I have worn it with every hair color and skin tones from alabaster to Jersey Shore tan. It is amazing on WOC as well (as evidenced by that lovely swatch shot someone posted). If I have my way they will bury me with this on my lips.

I have only been voting for CoC in the gloss category. I have it and it is gorgeous. Having now seen the swatches on T's site I will now vote for FoF. I don't remember that one but it is so pretty.

I agree with those who say T's Cool Heat looks different. Mine is much more teal than the pictures of hers. BTW, MAC Guy, I am Team Jete for sure.

Me too. I hate to admit it but I am probably a marketer's dream. I can get sucked into things easily sometimes through a great pic, new delivery method, etc. I feel like I have gotten better about it.

Also from looking at the Temptalia swatches, I think I'll start voting for the Moth Brown e/s I haven't even given the shadows a second look, but that one is pretty different looking. I also like Heavenly Bliss, but I probably wouldn't buy it, I have more gold/brown shadows than I know what to do with, it probably wouldn't get used, but I'll still send a few votes it's way

I think we all are, otherwise we wouldn't go crazy over LE collections. Still, I only buy what I really wear and what I will use up. If I'm in doubt, I usually skip and don't regret this decision. This approach makes me happy, both financially and space-wise. Nothing worse than collecting make up that doesn't get used.

More power to those who can vote multiple times. While it is not quite a "fair & square" approach, it make is certainly interesting until the last minute.

Right now I want Moxie, Rocker and Cult of Cherry. I'm not fussed about eyeshadows anymore, I think I'd be ok with whatever gets through but Heavenly Bliss is definitely my fav!
