MAC for Marilyn

I'm starting to really dislike early online releases. If they announce that a collection will be released on a specific day, they should stick to that date. But since they've set an unofficial precedence for early releases, people end up stalking the website for days (and nights), wasting time that could be utilized in other ways. And really, we can't even complain to MAC because *technically* they've set a day for it. Maybe I'll take a break from LE collections (after Glamour Daze, of course. There's no way I'm missing purple lippies and EDES!)

And I still don't know what my list for Marilyn is! I should less time complaining and more time deciding, haha.

It wouldn't be so bad if Pro didn't have it up on theirs lol. Makes me jealous. I am curious tho are those who are pro MUAs or are there other professions that enable you the access to the pro site. Just wondering.

It seems TPC will be a little more unique to me (skipped Pink Cult, don't have anything like it in my stash), but i do love corals, lol .. Maybe i'll just get them both then, i'm really in blush overload atm but i can't seem to manage skipping the blushes lately, it's a disease lol

It's just a teeny tiny haul this time - I'm trying to save money for By Request and the awesome x-mas launches from MAC, Chanel and Guerlain!
I got Love Goddess and TPC (though I own Pink Cult already), because I skipped TPC when it was released last time, and PC pulls very pink on me.

I can definately relate in wanting to get both blushes - the blush disease... *g*

Alright, I just tried on Runaway Red and Rocker to make sure I don't need to get BUs of Charmed, I'm Sure and Deeply Adored. Fail! I forgot how much I like these darker reds on me. Sigh. I was trying to cut back to save money for Glamour Daze, so I changed my list to only get BUs of Love Goddess and Scarlet Ibis. But I think I'm going back to my original list of 4 lipsticks with BUs for each. I'm tired of going back and forth with this. This isn't rocket science. It shouldn't be this difficult to decide what to do, so I'm making it easy for myself.

You could just buy one of each and not back anything up since there are similar shades out there and have a jump start on GD.

I agree, that's how I got screwed over the spring collections with all the petty lippes this yr. they should release le collections on the day not the day before because that's how shit ends up getting sold out.

There's the comparison. I'm ok with them differing slightly tho. I hear ya with the money vs number of collections and things I want. Priorities suck the big one as does being an adult sometimes lol. I hope you can indulge a bit tho.

Deeply Adored does look close to Rocker... Hmmm... Runway Red looks close to Charmed (I have two RR's)... Love Goddess looks to be something compared that isn't similar... (Not to say I don't have a color like it somewhere already)... I'm thinking Love Goddess.. Then I'll have to go try on RR and Rocker and remind myself how much I like it or not... I do know I love them... If my RR BU and other one is in good condition , I can feel good on passing on Charmed and getting Deeply adored...

I don't get back ups anymore...Money reasons and for the fact I have 200 something lipsticks and I don't go out enough to wear them all lol... I don't think anyone could... I do have the ones I reach for most, but even those aren't close to being half way done.. Thus why for me I find BU's useless... I have backups in my jewelry box from Liberty of London and the art collection from three years ago and I still have barely used the ones I'm using... I could see BU's for someone who has a small lippie collection... I just don't go through lipsticks as much as I'd like.. As it is my favorite make up product ever! lol

Plus I've come to my senses (sometimes) to discover that I may get all into the hype and the "Newness" love for the product and think "OMG I need two".. Then I think back to how many times I've said that and how many times from those products I've moved on to new ones or similar ones come up in other collections from mac... Then I'm like "Ok, calm down BU's aren't needed for this, just enjoy it while u have it and you will find something similar if need be or new to take its place."

Haha, I agree! There are similar shades out there (especially since it's red) and there will be even more shades that will come out later on (hello, pretty Chanel reds!) Once I decide which red lippie is coming home with me, I probably won't back it up. But that's only b/c I don't go through all the lippies in my stash fast enough to merit BU. YMMV.

I have used B2M before for other special packaging products, but it's been a while so I don't know if policies have changed.

The MAC store/counter will not let you B2M for the Marilyn Monroe collection since it's special packaging. The only way you can B2M for the lipsticks in regular packaging.

after not working for a whole year and finally working i'm going to treat myself with this collection. headed to the pro store right after work. my friend told me they haven't even put the display out so i'm hoping nothing is sold out. i didn't want to have her hold one of each since i wanted to check it out myself hahahaha i'll do CP's if anyone wants since i'm now going there impromptu. I should be leaving in about 2 hours

Exactly. However sometimes I can't convince myself.. However the last back up I got was "Runway Red" when it first came out... Progress in my book on resisting back ups...

I have the insane same amount of e/s as well... It's like you really don't know how much you got till you have your gay friend telling you "Girl you have enough make up for 3 to 4 drag queens" ... Then it's like "I need to slow down and no BU stuff or get really similar colors."

I just tried on Runway Red again... It truly is the perfect midtone blue red ... When you don't want a bright nice one like Russian or the dry but bright Ruby Woo...

I think "Charmed I'm sure" will be rather like it and rather perfect for those that want that kind of red... Must resist.

Oh yes, the Chanel holiday collection looks amazing! I don't even dare to take a look at the Guerlain one, cause then i'm gonna want things i can't afford anyway. Got my whole 'makeupbudget' reserved for Marilyn, By Request, Glamour Daze, and Eclats du Soir de Chanel lol. Anyway, enjoy your goodies
