I am waiting for somebody to sell the boxes.... after all the invitation to an event was considered ebayable so certainly the boxes are rare collectable items as well

I am surprised.  Maybe it is my area but nobody did presales and nobody even let you peek at the collections in advance.  There were also no events locally cus believe me I asked the two nordies, 3 macys and the free standing store all repeatedly.  I am sure there are more Macy's but I figured if I wasn't having any luck at a store I stop into once a week then I wasn't going to have luck at some shop I haven't been to before.  I wrote about it earlier but the SA was literally combating tears and her hands were shaking as she handed me the lone BP they got because they were not allowed to purchase anything from the shop.  She actually said I was super smart and lucky to have come in and that it wasn't fair.  According to her the policy for Macy's was that they had to buy their stuff from free standing store.  Maybe it was different there because you have no free standing store nearby?
Yup, the nearest MAC store is 2.5 hours away. And it was not the MAC ladies who claim-jumped, it was Macy's employees who bought it up. The MAC ladies had to order their stuff online like all of us, so they cannot get it. And they were dismayed at the auction vultures.

I wonder why she didn't order it from MAC Pro?

Anyway, I'm glad you got your stuff.

Back to makeup, though: I didn't go to Mac this morning, but I will go tomorrow. It'll be funny to go there and a couple of department stores in the mall to see what's left. It'll probably be just a nail polish and dazzleglass.
Oh my, that is scary. I really feel for you.

That is a very difficult thing.

Hey Ladies,
Not new to the site(professional lurker), but this is my first post!
I had to work this am, and the only things i wanted was Love Goddess and Deeply Adored. So last nite, i made the hubby homemade chicken stew and homemeade corn bread and first thing he asks"what do you want?'..lol..so i convinced him to go to Macys at 10 am,(and not a second later), because the lippies would be sold out when i got off.my sweetheart was there at 930!! and there was a line!! so while the ladies where swatching he went right to a MA and showed her my text and was able to get my two lippies. He then promptly bragged about it on facebook and posted pics on Instagram, and all his friends made fun of it!! lol..another cute storie to tell the kids one day..anyway, i guess i can stop lurking now!! hey Ladies!!
You all have some wonderful hubbies!!! Oh and I need that recipe.. .I might have some convincing to do with a certain someone! LOL

I accidentally bought an extra deeply adored while I was scrambling through the crowd. I already bought one and a BU. LMK if anyone missed out on it.

The SA at the store I was in confirmed that MAC employees were not allowed to buy the collection. She was very upset, I didn't blame her. She said they got so little of the collection and they are a pretty high volume store. I found this pretty insane---a friend of mine works at Nordstrom in cosmetics and said some lady was camped out with a lawn chair in front of the store at 6 am when the maintanance people arrived. She went to the counter when they opened and bought 5 of everything! It wiped out a big chunk of their stock. What is WRONG with people???

 Thanks again, elegant. Also, I don't know if I sent you my well wishes for your mom, but if I didn't, I'm sorry. I don't know where my mind is sometimes. All the best to your mom. I just got back from my lesson and I was good! The instructor is cool. He had me in traffic, practicing my turns b/c he says turning is the hardest part of driving (my dad says the same thing). I pretty much nailed it, but I was so nervous whenever someone was behind me. I could feel them judging me in my student car. When I go to the Mac store tomorrow, I think I'll ask about Glamour Daze. They tend to know about collections at that store as opposed to the counters. Maybe they'll have a book or something I can look at. Anyone think they might have the products already? :naughty:

I got my FM powder from a Macy's mac counter today. When I told the SA I wanted it, I saw her open a drawer full of stapled shut bags. She opened one of the bags and rung it up for me. It made me wonder if she pulled it from employee holds.

Here's my MM story: I went to pick up my stuff the first thing on Monday morning when the collection came out. Other customers? Not a single soul. After that I have passed by the counter at least 1-2 times a day, and not once I have seen anyone even looking at the MM stuff. Nevertheless, first things to sell out* were DA and then CIS, along with TPC. And today, LG and finally SI were sold out. They may still have 1-2 PZs. Is this crazy or really crazy?
*There were no BPs.

That is ridiculous. I don't care if she's buying it for other people (but it's probably for eBay anyway) there needs to be a 2 item per customer limit. I would be so mad if I, as an employee, couldn't get my stuff. What the point of working at Mac then? What's the perk? I'm not talking holding stuff for weeks, but I should be able to buy as soon as it goes on sale. Too little product and inconsistent rules about who can buy and how much they can buy leads to upset customers. Not good and honestly, this collection isn't that serious. Yes, the lipsticks are very good to great and there's some great stuff for the fair guys and girls out there, but come on! It's the Marilyn effect.
