MAC for Marilyn

My order of Little Rock d/g from Bloomingdale's got cancelled!! But on the bright side, I'm glad to pre-order it from a MAC store in Vegas.

I love both blushes, already have a TPC with a huge dip in it so I am happy to have a MM backup.

The lipsticks are sooo pretty. They are "already done" colors but they are more complex than their predecessors.

The bp is very interesting. I tapped a little bit on my brush and buffed in all over, then went back added more on cheekbones and forehead. LOOKS AMAZING!

I was afraid it might not since I am NW30, but it really gives that movie star look. Matte yet luminous. I am in love

I really want to wear it tomorrow and see if I cause any car crashes like the rest of you. lol

So today I just went ahead and picked up Preferred Blonde because i kept looking for it at every counter.... It is original...no....but obviously I COULDNT live without it haha... Plus it was the last one at my counter...It was so meant for me lol

Well, evilBay sometimes works. I lost my favorite gloss from Surf, Baby! several months after the collection sold out and i got one on eBay for pretty much the same price it had been in the stores.

Clearly this is not the case for Marilyn lipsticks! $275 for a frickin' lipstick? I cringe when i buy a YSL lipstick. NOTHING could induce me to pay that much even if it was my favorite color! I can only guess that some people are trying to collect the whole specially packaged set and museum-ize it unworn.

It's possible to call a store and place an order to have items shipped to you, right? For anyone who missed out on either of the d/g, the e/s (How to Marry, Preferred Blonde, Showgirl), n/p, or Legendary blush, I discovered a MAC counter in a Bloomingdale's that still has all those items in stock. Not sure if/how they do phone orders, but if you don't mind having it shipped from New York, it's the counter at Roosevelt Field. hth

don't be discouraged. try another shop....i usually have an extremely hard time finding frames that suit my face, because my face is excessively narrow (think child sized) and my prescription is very high (cuts out the number of frames that would effectively look like 'coke bottles'). i usually have to try a large number of shops before finding a handful of frames that look good. usually i only end up with one or two options. sometimes it makes all the difference to find a good sales assistant with a pleasant attitude...who understands frames, face shapes and prescriptions!

I have the absolute hardest time buying glasses. I've been wearing glasses since 3rd grade, so my vision isn't all that great. I've resorted to bringing a camera with me so I can photograph myself with different frames on. Then I put my glasses back on so I can see what I look like in the pictures. It's pretty comical, but I feel I have no choice.

I can definitely relate.

I would FLIP OUT for a Twiggy collection! It could have some amazing eye and cheek products. Sandman would be cool too-- maybe there could be some Death black shadow with a skull compact like her necklace.

My pick would be for Aishwarya Rai, Naomi Campbell, basically some amazing WOC because I think us nonporcelains need more love. Not that the other ones listed aren't great, but still.

I'm surprised that they have any stock since this is the store that canceled my order! I'll give them a call tomorrow morning to see what's up. :\

All this talk about the bp makes me excited to get it, I can't wait. I just want all my stuff too lol. I've got two orders shipped from Belk and my cp once they arrive I'll have all of my haul lol. I'm glad my LG and SI did ship. I love colors like Lady Danger and SLV so SI will fit right in to my collection. I haven't purchased Immortal Flower, Launch Away, or Supercontinential so I'm looking forward to Legendary as well.
