I live in Canada and the girls at the Bay told me that they aren't getting this collection at all!!!!

I checked the theme days schedule and I noticed we're having an Egyptian McQueen day. =/ Eww... eyeshadow all the way up to the eyebrow, along with super black thick brows. Aughhshshhshhhhfhjfajwjkehahbgof. Not excited. =/

a couple of us are hoping for a theme day like this, minus the thick brows. and we will do the liner (like in the visual) and black wig.

are you meaning your ppid discount? i know employees get a discount of this stuff. this is considered special packaging, like barbie was. have you not gotten a discount before on special packaging?

When I had my PPID before I was hired, I still was able to get my discount on Special Packaging. The only thing I could never get my discount on was the Barbie. So, yes, you should be able to get your PPID discount!

I feel you on that. I think we are too. Wonder how many people will say, "Oh, uh...uh-ugh..your makeup looks...uhm...unique, but I was hoping for something more natural."

God, I remember some painful theme days that I had to participate in. It is really excrutiating when you are walking from the car to the counter or store. People stare at you like WTF!?!

My friend told me that that is because they are 'Holiday' collections and therefore special collections that are not eligible for discount (pro nor employee). I guess because they are designed as more personal palettes than artistry palettes and items? I dunno. But it's a HUGE bummer. I know I want some palettes, some Stylistics, and such. =/ Last year I dropped a BOMB on Couture and looked forward to having discounts on the next high-end collection. =/ Oh well.

employees didn't get a discount on the barbie doll itself, but the makeup we did. and we didn't get a discount on the couture collection until like 6-8 weeks after it came out. the reason we didn't get a discount is because it was so pricey. we don't get discounts on holiday collections because they are such a good deal. mac would be losing money on the holiday sets if everyone got it at discount.
but hey, a discount on everything else the rest of the year is well worth it.

Agreed, Sometimes the discounts get added a few weeks later, like with Couture, I think they like to see how they are selling sometimes. The Barbie T-shirts, Dolls, etc. we didn't get PPID on at all, just the makeup. The used to never give discounts for the Idols collections but now they do. And the Holiday is technically already discounted.
