at fall update back in july, mcqueen was listed as being distributed to all locations, which made me excited (since i work at a macys counter). sadly, we found out today that it is NOW only being released to stores, nordstrom, saks and online only in the US and to all locations internationally (except for indonesia, phillipines and china). mac changed their mind. the reasoning behind this is that with mcqueen being such an out-there designer, the collection (and designer) didn't seem to be as appealing towards the excluded shopping margets. it seemed to be more towards the other margets, hence the limited release.

so i appologize for my previous posts reassuring everyone that it would be at all locations, because at the time of my posts, it was going to be.

the release date for mcqueen is listed as oct. 11th.

Yep that is right because I called Macy's yesterday and they said that the collection did not even come in and that they would not be getting it!

That is horrible and I was afraid that MAC was going to limit where this collection was going to be released in the beginning.I really do not think that is too smart of them to do that.Oh well.

A MAC MA at Macy's told me that they were getting it, but I would not be surprised if they don't. I have to admit that employees at the 34th Street store are not very knowledgable; I plan to go to the Pro store to get mine.

Canadian gals (specifically BCers),

I went to the MAC freestanding store at Metrotown today and the SA said that this collection will only be at stores and not counters. It will be released on October 11th.

Just thought i'd post this for anyone that wasn't sure

Well, according to Erine, this collection has been cancelled for Macy's. I don't think anyone at my counter knows yet though because the only one of us to go to update is my manager who went on vacation right after, and me who frequents message boards like this one.

I heard of those 2, and Saks too. My Nordstrom and MAC Store both said it is a very limited release, and they only got a very small shipment. It will sell out in no time I am sure.

It sucks though. I've gotten so many Macy's giftcards for my birthday and I planned to use them on McQueen, but it looks like I'm going to have to extend a hand into my Holiday savings and then use the giftcards for that instead.

Holiday is coming to every store and counter right? RIGHTTT?! O____O

Aussie girls, I just called the Chapel Street (Melbourne) store. They told me this collection is coming out on the 8th Oct, and it's going to be available everywhere, so both store and counter.

I know it's inconsistent with Erine's posts, so if u r still not sure, maybe call the counter u usually visit just to confirm.

The Nordstrom near me has the Alexander McQueen collection in the store. I am still not feeling it. I got a chance to swatch some of the Pp and e/s... definitely a thumbs down, (For the record, I do love bright colors!)

Really? What don't you like about the shadows? I love bright colors too, and I hoping I am not disappointed

I just called my local Nordstrom's and they said it will be out on the 11th unless MAC pushes it back again.

I asked the Macy's MA last night, she said they are not getting it.
