I am IN LOVE with this collection. It is so PRETTY! The colors, the packaging
It really feels like a *special* MAC collection and I love that.
I ended up getting more than I thought I would when I finally made it to Macy's to check everything out.
I picked up Birds & Berries and Bough Grey e/s...Bough Grey is not quite like anything else that I already have, and Birds & Berries is just so gorgeous. I really want to pair these two colors together. I have Strike a Pose, but like Audrey, I prefer the VP finish to the Starflash finish. Although hearing all this great talk of Dame's Desire and GMLOL makes me want to take another trip back to the counter to get a better look at these two...
This is going to be a silly question, but how does dame's Desire pair with the SCF Purple quad? The quad is really the only purple e/s I have...would these look okay together or how are you guys wearing DD? I'm a little purple shy.
I bought both beauty powders. I was only going to get Shell Pearl, but Summer Rose stole my heart. It is so gorgeously soft and pigmented. I wore this today as a blush and it was the prettiest pink. I haven't tried Shell Pearl yet, but it looks like the perfect highlight shade...I can't wait to try it with Ripe Peach.
I'm not super crazy about the compacts. I don't really like the way the design part is raised.
I love the product, I just wish the top of the compact was smooth.
Prim & Proper also found its way home with me. It looks like it will be a great neutral color. I want to try it as a light contour under the cheekbones.
I really think I'll like this. And I can see it working on a lot of skin tones. Can't wait to play with this one more this weekend.
Now for the lippies....
I am a lipstick girl anyway....but I love all 4 of these.
I did find that I need to use the Elegant patented **Dab & Smoosh** technique for all of them since they are all very creamy and pigmented....I'm used to Lustres and Frosts, so I gotta do some dabbing and smooshing to sheer them out.
I wasn't sure if I could pull off Petals & Peacocks, but it looks gorgeous on. It is vibrant, but wearable. I love the purple undertone to the hot pink. This will be a date night lippie. My hubby loves me in brighter lips, so this one will be fir him.
I am having a bit of a harder time with Blooming Lovely....I wish it had a touch more pink to it, but I'm hoping to play with it a bit more this weekend. I'll try some different lip liners and glosses with it.
Ever Hip is springtime in a lipstick tube. It is just a pretty pop of color. I never really thought I could wear coral lips, but between the SCF ones and Ever Hip, I have changed my mind. And it just makes me happy to look it. So pretty and fresh.
Peachstock. I don't know where Peachstock has been my whole life, but this is my new favorite nude! With a light hand, this gives me the most sexy nude lip. I can't wait to get some of the Art Supplies GPS and do a great smokey eye and Peachstock & Boy Bait lips. mmmm....
Finally, English Accents l/g came home with me. I think part of it is just how pretty it looks in the tube...it is a very pretty cool toned pink. I haven't tried it on my lips yet and I worry it may be a tad too thick and opaque, but I love this sort of color, so I'm hoping I can make it work.
AND...the makeup bag is growing on me... a little. I still don't think it is worth $30, necessarily.... but I really do love the patten. It just seems that given the rest of the collection, and how much care went into the packaging design and the printing on the outside of the boxes and inside of the boxes, and the product packaging, the makeup bags sort of feel like an afterthought...the material is just so thin...and they're not lined and....I don't know. It just seems like they could have been better....overall though, I really think this collection is great. It really gets me excited for spring. The collections this year have been so fantastic for the most part...I can't wait to see what summer and fall bring.
