MAC Give me Liberty of London Discussion

I have been going back and forth about what I wanted. I thought maybe one item from the collection. At first I wanted the Blue India n/l, but I think I can pass. Its way darker than I expected. I think that Blooming Lovely is to close to what I already have. I own both Lavender Whip and Fashion Mews. Even though they aren't exact dupes they are close or at least in the same family...lol. Right now after seeing more swatches I have totally changed my mind about what I want.

I think I want :
Prim and Proper Blush
Shell Pearl Beauty Powder
Summer Rose Beauty Powder (maybe)

I want to pair Prim and Proper with Shell Pearl. I think it will look good.

I am surprised that they didn't post the looks for this collection on the website... did anyone else notice that?

I SO want to get my stuff! I'm holding out for Nordie's triple points week next week.....gah! Oh well, it isn't as though I don't have things to play with - we're just always looking for the next 'fix', aren't we!

nordstrom was pre-selling and had the collection out on display.

i liked birds and berries but bough grey was not pigmented on me at all. i am nc40 for reference.

prim and proper was like a natural colored blush on me.

i have splurged on spring forecast too much recently so i tried not to swatch too much.

I just ordered Blue India nail polish, Petals & Peacocks lipstick and Bough Grey eyeshadow.

I think Bough Grey will work for me b/c my Too Faced primer is so good. I'd rather give it a try and fail rather than let something cool slip away. I want to see what P&Ps looks like on my lips even though it seems like a Show Orchid/GAT hybrid. Who am I to resist hot pink? And I bought Blue India b/c blue is my favorite color, but this has a funky twist to it. Plus it'll work with my complexion and wardrobe.

That's all I'm getting from this. I decided against both beauty powders, all other lipsticks and all lipglasses except A Different Groove (

). I may get a Prim and Proper backup, though.

I used UD primer potion which I love. Bough grey applies better on a sticky base if you really want it. lol

my bf woke me up this morning:
him: "the liberty stuff you can get now!"
me: "huh..........?"
him: "liberty of london girl!"
me: "........ oh, the counters get it on thursday though"
him: "the liberty girl has a scarf"
me: ".... oh that scarf. its like a hundred bucks...."
him: "no, its $115. i didnt know there was a scarf."
me: "how do you know about this?"
him: "i got an e-mail"

quite a bizzare conversation to have with your bf.......... lol but hes cute as a button.

My list:
bigger makeup bag
prime and proper
shell pearl
peachstock if it doesnt look brown and muddy on me
ever hip
perenial high style
naked and in synch lip liners if they still have them

this is probably my biggest haul since hello kitty. i havent fallen in love with any of the eyeshadows this time around.

Thanks for the tip, but I really hate UD primer potion. I couldn't blend with that crap to save my life.

My search yielded no results so forgive me if this
was asked before but i'm wondering if someone
can tell me if Bough Grey is similar in colour to
apres ski (from the chill collection) obviously the
finishes are different but wondering if I can skip
this collection entirely? ... fingers crossed ...

I've been using UD Primer Potion with a paint pot on top and been getting much better results. Paint Pots alone crease on me, but not under UDPP. And colors stick much better to paint pots than UDPP.

I do the same, except I wear Bare Canvas paint and then put a colored NYX pencil over as my base. The NYX pencils crease on me without the paint underneath. When I layer them like that, they wear like iron, and the shadows look much more intense too.

Yeah but most of MAC is made in Canada so.. it's weird, plus we have about the same money value AND MAC was originally a Canadian company... so the price difference (and keep in mind that I have to add 15% tax in my province) is frustrating.

For Europe? I think I wouldn't even buy MAC at that price, I would go for MUFE and what not.

There is NO Pro Discount for this collection so all I'm getting is Blooming Lovely lipstick. Everything else I can do without

You didn't ask me but I also use Too Faced Shadow Insurance and I find it to be about the same as UDPP. I bought this last time as I was getting frustrated with the UDPP container. A s/a at Sephora said she used both and really couldn't tell the difference between the two. I find them both to really well. I do like the tube in the shadow ins as I feel I can use all of the product without cutting it open.
