i can see how people would be more supportive of the fafi or N collections over this one. MAC often releases collections that generally appeal to a certain niche, such as this heatherette collection, but still include some products (beauty powders, nude/soft lipcolors, etc) that can appeal to most everyone. it's all about your personal style and makeup choices. personally i am so excited about this collection. i HAVE to pick up that 3D silver glitter, that's my #1 item as it probably is for a ton of people. and the bad girl trio. and the bad girl lashes. and sooooo much more. excitement!
i was excited about fafi, but after viewing the products in-store and swatching some stuff, i just wasn't too impressed. fafi is a wonderful artist in her own right, i'm just not feeling the products resulting from her collab with MAC :/

BlueAngel, do you know how the pink/purple trio compares to the cool holiday palette from 2007? I have that one, and am not sure if I *need* the trio now... and are the one end of the pencils shimmery at all? NOT the softsparkle end, the other end. TIA!

the other end is not shimmery. it is soft and a solid color.
