I remembered just last night that Illustrated is supposed to launch on the 12th so I hope we get swatches of the Electric Cool shadows soon.

Im an eyeshadow addict (and bummed I cant use MES bec of allergies) ... and cannot wait for Electric Cool!

NAILS still works for overnight shipping. I have to use a seriously big powder brush for Stratus and Earthshine. Made the mistake last night of using Earth with a regular powder brush. No bueno!

Oh is it so maybe sky. But I do not wear blues,however I wish I would get one with more gold.

I can honestly say that I've seen a couple people be flat out rude about T on these forums (also saw him/her tweet something rude about some Specktrettes) but those people haven't been active in this thread in quite some time. So while your statement has some merit, I don't feel like it should be targeted towards the people who are merely stating their opinions on what does/doesn't look good on T.

I think this is all just a misunderstanding. The user who said that the MSFs and blushes look "terrible" on T probably didn't mean it in a hateful way. Not everything is going to compliment T's skin tone. That's why MAC launches so many different shades of blushers, eyeshadows, etc in each collection so that everybody will find a shade that's right for them. T buys most of them (and gets some for free) for review purposes and is brave enough to test them on her face and show them to the world even though not all the products will compliment her skin tone. She does this for her readers and it's quite helpful and at least better than blindly buying online.

Well, depends on what you intend to use them for. What type of brush are you looking for?

I can name some of my faves, but depending on what you need them for I will give some alternatives.

Amongst my faves is the 165 (I think it is on pro only)
The 182 of course for buffing out powder / blush
I rarely use the 184, but it is the best fan brush I own.
The 168 waaaaay better than Sigma's version, I think..

Lemme think and do give me some ideas of what you're looking for.

That's a great start! I need some more blush, powder, buffing type of brushes.

IMO, Sigma brushes are good "starter" brushes. The set I have is pretty decent. It definitely doesn't compare to MAC but really you get what you pay for. I'm slowly starting to add more MAC brushes into my collection but it's hard when I'm spending all my money on LE collections haha.

True, nothing wrong with that, but there is a difference in quality. If you are happy with them, ain't nothing wrong with that.

Im thinking of a 2nd purchase, if the stuff I want is still available when I get paid. Want - Venus and Cut a Caper. But Cut a Caper is sold out at the MAC website so ... I might wait for it to go live at nordstrom.com.

Im also really curious about the Mineralized Charged Water Cleanser but im not sure if ill be allergic to it, and I dont want to fall in love with an LE skin product.

. I had a similar problem with the Mega Metals. But I'm sure the Electric Cool shadows will be to die for. I also totally can't wait to find out about the holiday collection but that's really getting too far ahead

Mega Metals make my inner corners itch very slightly. I can use them if I avoid the inner corners altogether. Im just glad that Prolongwears dont affect me at all.

I have actually never bought any MAC brushes! They are soo expensive haha and I guess I need to know which ones are worth the money and which ones I can dupe. I heard Sigma has good brushes but not familiar with their brand, either. I am def going to check out the 184 now, though. What brushes do you think are worth it?

I LOVE makeup but I'm no hardcore MUA. I try to perfect my techniques everyday, but sometimes I don't really now how to get the best out of a product! I am planning on getting Earthshine but not TOO sure on how I will use it haha. I am nw35 so not sure how it would look as a contour/blush/highlighter.
You could ask the MUA in the store if you can apply Earthshine with a 184 brush yourself. That way you can see if you're able to work with it. The MUA's should have all the brushes they sell in a brush belt so you can try them.
I love my Mac brushes. I have seen a lot of reviews on sigma brushes and from comparing pictures and vids of those and Mac brushes, the Mac brushes seem to be of better quality. You do pay more though so if you want to get Mac brushes depends on how much you want a good quality brush, Also deciding on which brushes you want to get depends on the looks you like to do.
I think the 239 and 217 are the most essential eye brushes, but if you have a basic paddle and blending brush that you really like they might not be worth it. Is there something that you like to do with your make up, but that you have problems with?

If they are worth the price and will last I have no problem with paying extra! How long have you had your most used Mac brush? I'm noting those two eye brushes to check out.

And, yes! I have SO MANY problems contouring and bronzing. I can never seem to make it look right.

For buffing I really like the 182.
For sculpting / shaping I use the 165 daily.
For sculpting / blush the 168 will do just fine as well, however, the 165 is easier to highlight a smaller section.
For blush I use different brushes, depending on the blush and the mood. I wish there was a brush that was in between the 187 and the 188. I find the 188 too fickly for my bigger cheeks and the 187 is a bit too big sometimes. I guess the 116 is nice if you want your blush to be on a smaller area and if you want a more diffused, wider area, I would take the 129.
For powder I think you can find good cheaper alternatives (did I just say that???) but I just do not really like the sigma ones (especially the brushes with black bristles). Mine shed a bit and bled like crazy, so I just stopped using them.

Recap (because even I can hardly make sense of all that's written above), I would get the 165 (if you can find it) for highlighting and sculpting, and I guess my preferred regular blush brush would be the 168, which sculpts well too and you could make it work for highlighting, but I prefer 165 for that. The 182 for buffing and should you want a face powder brush (for an all over dust of setting powder) I would get the 134, but it''s pricey...

Other requests?

EDIT: forgot to mention the 167SH. Looove that one for bronzer / buffing out blush more delicately than the 182...

I can't wait for my second order to get here today! I picked up meteoric, Ring of Saturn and Magnetic Attraction to go with my other goodies. I am still contemplating Fire Sign but going to try to resist since my boyfriend said we could *maybe* take a day trip to VT next week to hit up the CCO.

If it's any consolation, I have the same problem. I still buy MES occasionally and then wear them about twice a year. I've barely touched the ones I couldn't resist from last year's collection. But I haven't had a problem with any other Mac formulas except Big Bounce- and then it was only after testing them for several days in a row.

I have been wondering that! I'm being fickle/stingy with getting a MAC brush but with the quickness of lightening I'll buy a Sigma set

Just to clarify, I don't hate her and I didn't call her names. I merely said that the cheek products looked terrible because she applied them very heavy handed. She even said you have to be light handed and then bam! Problem is there's no way of telling how they would look sheerly applied, whether a pale girl can pull off Earthshine. Sometimes products look very different on her, I have bought lipsticks that looked amazing in her pictures, but were just meh in real life. I often don't agree with her opinion, but I never said I hated her or called her names. So there. Now can we please leave this topic alone and let's just continue to drool over the pictures and swatches?

I have several MES that I cant bear to get rid off. Sometimes, ill slather on several layers of primer and a cream shadow and ill be able to go a few hours w'o itching.

I want to go to the CCO to grab a couple of Big Bounces - im really curious to see why it has such a bad rep.

This is so helpful! I only have one MAC brush (184 from CCO) and I have been wanting to invest in more for a while. I definitely need some new blush brushes and will check some of these out when I'm at Macy's next.

Yeah that's why I'm passing on VAE. If I don't like it, I've wasted my £, if I love it then I won't be able to get more once it runs out! Lose lose.
