I love it. I mean honestly if I want a white hello kitty with a red bow I could just go to sanrio. This is different and its what I love about MAC. It's the chic modern versatile MAC's take on hello kitty and Im loving it!!

Exactly,MACs twist on Hello Kitty!I really really love it

From young to old, everyone will have an item that appeals to them and their age group. From kiddie to mature woman.

Like i said, the colors are things we have seen already, although this collection prides itself on being all new with no repromos.

Its a shame we won't get any fun new products like paint pots or penultimate liners in colors.

Who knows what mac has up its sleeve for 09 though?

No repromotes?

i really like the hello kitty in black packaging and as a white outline too. it's much more sleek and fits well with mac as a company, their existing design and make-up, and how it is targeted at an older audience (you're not going to give your 5 year old niece mac make-up to play with!). if it was red, or the typical white hello kitty face, it would have looked childish and dare i say it, more tacky. plus, i seem to gather that most colours in this collection are corals and pinks, which would look absolutely foul with red packaging. the black gives it a more sophisticated, contemporary feel whilst still being fun.
i can imgine myself buying a lot of lip/cheek product from this collection, simply because pinks and corals are my favourite colours to wear. however, i'll probably skip eyeshadow as i tend to wear neutrals. i'm incredibly excited, and i want one of the kouture dazzleglasses!

I know it's crazy, I'm doing a budget (200 give or take) and picking a few things asuming they don't go OOS but I'd love to have at least something with crystals, IMO it's worth it if it's refillable, but I'm defenetely not getting that awfull toy, not a nice thing to do HK should have been white, I guess if I need a Plush animal I'll buy it from a Sanrio Store.

perhaps they were trying to differentiate the doll from the regular sanrio plush dolls you can buy? it doesn't really make it 'special' and like it was from a limited edition range if it looks identical to the other dolls you can buy and doesn't fit with the collection

No prepromotes!?! That means we get new pigments (no jardin aires again), new glitters, and new glitter liners!?! Those are the ones that they usually repromote so I am happy to hear that they will be original. I want some details!!

I missed you!

Is the black packaging my favorite? Not by a long shot. What is going to suck me in to this collection is the freaking cat theme. I LOVE CATS! Some of the products I might have to get just because of the name.

apparently hello kitty is NOT a cat. i was reading the article on you know where and apparently it says "While the 34-year-old Hello Kitty character is usually assumed to be a cat, she is actually a girl, according to Sanrio."

since when do girls grow whiskers and have triangular ears on the top of the head apparently

Aye carumba! so many posts and now pictures since I last looked at this thread.
I feel really bad, but I am not squeeing over this collection like I hoped I would be. I wish I was and maybe I will be when I see it in person. It just doesn't look at all like I imagined it. I thought it would be fun and whimsical HK, but it just seems a bit lackluster and dark in the photos.

Same here! I've put a Hello Kitty sticker on her food container (big plastic one from Royal Canin to put biscuits in to store them and has photos of cats all over)
blush-anim-cl.gif
I'll take a pic of it tomorrow, it's too cute.

Sometimes you gotta be separated to appreciate the distance and the connection. It's happening with my bf being half the Europe away and with you being half the world away
