Ok...So I work for the company and even if I don't get my discount I am gonna go haywire.....

Here's what I think:

1: I am a MAKEUP JUNKIE!

2: I am not a shoe or purse junkie which leaves more $$ for makeup.

3: To the people who think it's ugly or too expensive....good.....MORE FOR ME!

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

Can you tell I am excited and I am so glad it's not all pink.....i am so OVER pink!

I love the black, because it incorporates MAC's signature black with HK's fabulousness. I think white would have been cute, done in just the right way- or else it could have looked cheap. I'm glad they avoided that altogether.

Just like many of you, I have loved HK/Sanrio since I was like 8 yrs old, and HK has never been represented in just one way, she's always changing colors or styles, that's why she is a style "icon" of sorts, enough that MAC was willing to go all out for this collection, and practically every lady/girl/woman out there is counting down to its release.

I love the packaging a lot more than I thought I would, I like the "pauper" collection's packaging a lot more than the "kouture" one even- rhinestones are so cliche. The pauper collection is so MAC and yet so HK. Love it!

I stated earlier that every product has a market and with that, I guess people are going to have to get on board in 2 1/2 months because I predict that this stuff is going to fly off the shelves. We are going to have to get it before it goes.

Don't they usually have a pretty substantial supply for these kind of releases... like Fafi and Barbie... they kind of had enough to go around?

I really dont like the packaging, I think I would be embarrased pulling this out of my bag

which is a shame because the colors look gorgeous. Maybe once swatches become available I might change my mind

Unfortunately, no. The kouture will be super limited from what I heard and everything else will FLY off the shelves. Barbie set records, and I think HK will break em.

Fafi just wasn't as popular of a collection

I like the packaging actually. I think the best packaging for cosmetics is black and that is why I was initially attracted to MAC.

As far as my list, I will have to see everything before even making one! So far I think I will most likely get a few lipsticks and lipglasses. None of that expensive Kouture stuff for me.

FAFI scarves and makeup bags went quickly, I remember because that is the only thing I wanted and couldn't get it. The FAFI dolls stayed around a tiny bit but eventually everyone bought it because it was so cute (some regret it now, but that happens), so I really didn't know what Fafi was and a lot of people didn't and it went off the shelves, now with that try to imagine HK. A black HK doll for collectors coming from a brand cosmetics company, forget about it. Hello Kitty is major business, even Kimora Lee Simmons and Mariah Carey ( I think she has a whole room dedicated to it saw it on CRIBS one time) are fans.

This is a big disappointment for me so far. I really hope some new pics arrive with something spectacular. However, I have also been on the no-buy bandwagon. Nothing seems to "wow" me anymore. I'm in a make-up funk.....

I could drive you extra nuts...I may require other life saving devices though.

If I ever spend $90 on a compact, whatever is inside will have to transform my face into...say...Andrea Lima or somethin

Thanks for finally getting some pix!

I'm a little sad that there doesn't seem to be Mild Kitty/Wild Kitty....that would have been awesome!
I will start saving by assuming I'm getting it all and cut the list once the color story comes out.

Yep, I saw a Kimora Lee Simmons ring in a jewelry store when I lived in Alaska...it was like $2000! The guy there was like "I'll give it to you for $1500.." umm no thanks! Maybe free-99 would okay! lol. HK is a money maker!

As for the availability of the collection, I remember Barbie Loves Mac didn't really sell out that fast- I lived in NYC at the time, and I didn't even know about this on its first day- a few days after, the only color I couldn't find at 66th&Columbus was Playful, but I called another store in SoHo and they had it. Regardless, I am going to pre-order everything I want or just buy it online, b/c I am not risking missing out!

Re: MAC - Hello Kitty Feb 2009 Discussion

well, I'm a little disappointed. I love the whole black is MAC deal regularly....but I guess I had an old school vision of HK in my head. I'm gonna prolly get a eye shadow palette, lippie, and a beauty powder. I'm heading to my neighborhood Sanrio for a makeup bag. I kinda hope I'll change my mind....but not really. I want some of the Dame Edna collection so this eases the wallet (and the boyfriend's wallet) just a little.

I think this is rather ugly as well. As for the black vinyl doll... Hello Fetish Kitty, anyone?

I'm not going wow over anything from the pictures. I'm annoyed the quads are in a different packaging from the standard 2 by 2. Nothing excites me so far. I'm still waiting on the full colour story, but as far as I'm concerned, this is nothing special so far.

I'm also rather amused that I guessed last night that the charm on the dazzleglasses would be removable and reusable, as then the price would sort of make sense - and look! That's totally the case!

You are exactly right... I'm the HK lover, and not really feeling it (right now) but I'm sure it'll grow on me and I'll love it.
