Wow, I unplug for a few hours and the threads are combined--much more organized. Thank you Lou!i just changed the name for us! thank you so much!
I'm looking forward to a few items (good to see some different lip gloss options this year, and a duo fiber brush set!)
But..
I wish they'd stop putting black eyeshadow in all the shadow palettes! all 4 this year have some version of a black shadow, as well as every other holiday palette I already own, and I never use them . And I was surprised to see they are going with crushed metal pigments as opposed to the traditional kind, I don;t see these selling nearly as much, seems like everyone says the same thing, they look beautiful but they are so much messier & harder to apply

Thanks for linking my blog. I was sure someone would be interested in seeing the video of the glittery snow globe paletteHere's some pictures. I suppose these have not been posted yet.

darn it! well never mind. I guess we can discuss the palettes and mini things here anyway which will be away from the main colour collection. I have so much info today my head is exploding! lol!Lou, Iceparade (snowglobes) and Glitter & Ice (MES, BP, etc..) will be released together. Dazzlesphere comes later. Not that it matters, but I believe you merged the wrong threads....

i am hoping soNo worries, it gets mixed up anyway and people who are interested will read both threads anyway...
The Illegal Cargo in the new palette is NOT like the old one (and I am still disappointed over how bad the latest release of Lightscapade was). This new one reminds me more of maybe a darker version of Shale e/s? Though most of the other colors in that set make it worth buying. The highlighter reminds me of transparent teal glitter made into an eyeshadow. Its a frosty white with the teal duochrome effect. The all white fiber brush set is what my heart is set on. Even though I have been working there every weekend I am still going in to the unveiling (Oct 18th for the MAC Indpls store) during the week to pre-order that for sure. Check your local MAC, there might be a glossy 8 page catalog showing all the sets and colors to start pre-ordering for those who cannot make the unveiling event.
I've never had trouble with creasing with them, but I did find the Surf Baby ones didn't apply well wet - they'd eventually get all crumbly, as I think they have an oily binder which doesn't play well with water. I've had good luck with them over Vibrancy Eye primer or just really well moisturized eyes, but I let those sink in super well first. The best effects I've gotten with them are over Big Bounce shadows (which also keeps them from fading better than anything else - they last great over those), as well as on top of standard powder shadows - you can get some really lovely 2-tone effects this way, since they're rather sheer on their own. Just look for my ravings about them in the Surf Baby and Big Bounce threads. I love them, but you have to expect some sheerness. Look for a base that's got somewhat of a texture like Big Bounce - something that forms a second skin over your eyelids but still has a bit of grit in the mix for something for the pigment to "grab" onto. I guess this is why using them over powder shadow is good too. Anything too smooth or oily and they just slide off.yeah crushed metal pigments are tricky. i find no matter what primer i use they fade and crease on me
