MAC - Love that Look Discussion

so i finally went to my local counter to look at Love That Look...all of the colors are so pretty, but really most if not all of them could be duped..but if you don't have any similar colors GET THEM ALL..IMO Starflash is MAC's best formula. One-Off stole my heart so i had to buy it...when i got home i swatched a bunch of my greens...One-Off is the love child of MAC's Gulf Stream and Urban Decay's Grafitti

A Starflash Quad would be amazing! I need to make me a quad of the starflash e/s.

I made 3 Starflash quads recently. The last one I only had three though as the only one I didn't get was One-off. I just added Carbon to it. I pretty much use my Starflash shadows everyday now and I don't know what I did without them?

I'm opting out of the pearlglides to get the shadows...I'll kick myself if they're sold out the following week. This is like my fave ever formula to the point I only use the quad because the others seem too pretty. I've used Talent Pool and Bold & Brazen other than that. This site makes me feel normal to want so many things...you must have more love than me cuz Sunset B I can't pull off and I've really got to get brave enough for light purples to rock Lotusland. I swore I wasn't going to do the Unbasic White after reading this thread but what happens if I like it? You all make it where I don't feel weird because I'm just like

That One Off, Rated R and Strike a Pose did me in and I'm seeing too many swatches and lusting. Thanks Erine for all the swatches and comparisons....it helped me out a lot.

Is it me or is Bunny just like freaking gorgeous no matter what the pic is? Bunny become a damn model on the side already and you all have to see his MySpace pics for real...you'll see what I mean. XD

thanks for mentioning bold & brazen casa, I so forgot that was a starflash finish!! This is why I need to put them together--depot and start filling a 15 pan!

Anna--I LOVE black russian! I swatched it and just love how it looks, almost multishimmering in my bathroom. I wore it and just love it! Fly by blu is pretty great IMO!

I'm going to purchase another eyeshadow palette and put 15 Starflash eyeshadows so that way I don't put them with any other eyeshadows.

For those of you looking for last year's Starflash collection, check your CCOs. I've gone to 2 in the past 2 weeks, and they have almost all of last year's (exception being Smoke & Diamonds, Mink & Sable and Grand Entrance), and they've had Molasses and Black Russian Pearlglides. I picked up a dupe of Sunset B and managed to snag Star by Night (the only one I didn't have). And got a backup of Black Russian.

I've made a 15 palette out of both collections, and a quad. I use them every day.

My poor other shadows are SO not feeling the love lately!!

This is a great idea. I've only got 12 Starflash eye shadows so far, but love the idea of having them all in one neat palette.

So far I've only picked up Rated R, Strike A Pose, Style Snob, One Off and a backup of Smoke and Diamonds. I do agree that the this year's collection seems to have a better texture across the board. MAC does need to make these permanent.


And I've been a bit palette-crazy lately. Even made my own little Chanel palette ala Trish McEvoy's compact.

The colors are
top row: Tigre, Island and Lavande
bottom row: Bois Bleu, Jungle and Bamboo.

word of warning: Bois Bleu does not look nearly as pretty on as it does in the pan. Jungle, on the other hand looks as faboo on as it does in the pan.

I had a friend who had access to brand new Chanel testers for the Soft Touch eye shadows. I hated the tester packaging, so when I found the Trish McEvoy dual compact, I was so stoked to have a palette to put the depots in. I plan on stashing a small travel size brush at the space above the pans in the palette.

A starflash quad would be love! I couldn't justify getting all the colors individually (or, uh, more than one), but something about $35 for 4 shadows makes it OK with me.

A Starflash quad would be beyond awesome! Now, which colours would we like it to contain...? Top hat, Smoke&Diamonds, Strike a Pose, Style Snob?

Anyway, I am so in love with these shadows. I am wearing Style Snob today with SAP on the outer half and crease, and Dazzlelight to highlight. Lined with Fly-by-Blu, it's one of the prettiest looks I've tried!

I did this amazing look. I put One off on the lid, Smoke & Diamonds in the crease, Divine Night over Smoke & Diamonds, Carbon in the outer V and Hoppin as highlight! It's so pretty!!
