I just got back from playing with the collection and putting my items on hold...
I must say I was excited when I got there but became really disappointed very quickly. For me both of the quads swatched poorly and the color payoff wasn't anything to right home about and I think that the Lady Grey quad actually swatched better than the Evil Eye quad. I even thought because I had lotion on it was because of that so I got a wipe cleaned up and swatched again and still was disappointed.

I told my favorite MA about my thoughts and she said she was underwhelmed and only got brushes and nailpolishes (she normally gets almost everything). She did tell me that the Cindy Sherman Collection was much better and she can't wait for it because she's already played with it.

They were missing a couple lipsticks and I liked Runaway Red and Prince Noir but not enough to get them...Maybe I will B2M for them on launch date...I'm not sure, it may just be me because I have so many reds already and a few purples...

Oh, if you have Root ccb, Take Root is so darn close to it, I really don't think you need both. i did think that the shadesticks were a little dry and the MA agreed with me and said that's why she didn't get any.

What I did get was:
-all of the fluidlines
-a few 226 brushes
-two 211 brushes (OMG I was so pleasantly surprised by it, I may need a third!)
-all of the nailpolishes
-seaside ccb
-carbonized
-outre

I think that was it...
If anyone wants me to, I will go back tomorrow after work and do some swatches if you really want but I think I will have to put a base under for the quads...maybe that will make a big difference? So just let me know if you want me to and I will go and do that.

Sadly...I think a lot of the stuff has been done before or they have something similar enough in the regular line. I mean most of the lipsticks you can get anytime by calling a pro store anyway...Sorry...I'm just a little disappointed...

Here are the swatches that I promised. SOrry that I didn't have any natural light pictures, I didn't make it home before sunset. Also, I apologize that these are not the best pictures but they are something, right? I am also sorry if I missed amy items that were requested. Oh and moleskin practically disappeared into my skintone...

I put a base under the Evil Eye Quad since the first swatches sucked but as you can see it still didn't help terribly much...

The swatches look different because Christine and Karen have a different skintone from one another. Karen is much tanner than Christine. Swatches look different depending on the lighting and the skintone of the swatcher. =)

I'm not too hyped up by this collection anymore. I might just get the 226 brush and thats it. I was initially interested in Dark Envy but its too teal. I want something greener.

I'm not sure if there's a brush with this set (I kinda think it has one of those spongy things), but from what I saw, these ones are far better than their regular shadows. Doesn't NYX test on animals? For some reason I thought they did...

Having looked at Karen's swatches again, I think I'm still under the spell of Prince Noir, even if I do have something very similar. It does look like it's a beautiful colour and I find those vampy shades really difficult to resist, especially in the Fall.

I'm super-curious to get a look at the Evil Eye quad, since that's really the big outstanding question in my potential haul. So far, I'm looking at:

Lady Grey quad
Runaway Red l/s
Prince Noir l/s

I'm thinking of either Secret Lover (looked really pretty in Christine's swatches, less so in Karen's) or OhOhOh depending on how sheer it is. And I'll decide about the other quad when I see it. I'm thinking it might be a pass, since I already have dark purple/ violet shades (Shadowy Lady, Jungle Moon, Vile Violet) and dark green shades (Plumage, Nars Night Porter) and I have Palace Pedigreed from Fabulous Felines last year. I can't see myself springing $45 for one shadow, so unless the darker shades have a wonderful formula, this will be a skip.

I was really excited about a lot of the products early on, but now that the collection is almost here, I find my enthusiasm has cooled. Is it possible that I've simply bought too much makeup and am getting burnt out?

Nah. In no way possible.

As Mac's first big Fall collection, this really can't compete for me with what we've seen in the past- Cult of Cherry or Fabulous Felines. Even Makeup Art Cosmetics, which wasn't a home run for me, had greater depth IMO.

Aw man, I sound like the grumpy old makeup lady. I need to get enthusiastic again...

There's sponge on the other end and hair on the other on the applicator in those duos. And NYX is PETA approved.

This can't compete with Fabulous Felines, but there are some pieces I really look forward to. Stunner blush the most, and that army green nail polish! I guess I've overdosed myself with dark lipsticks because I have no interest in Prince Noir. That's new.

i have expensive pink and it looks a bit more bronzed than what that one does... not sure about the others though
