Ok. After tremendous soul searching, (and a peek in my makeup drawers
icon_eek.gif
) I've decided to join the "LOW-BUY" group for 2014 and start early with this collection. So I've revised my list and I'm only getting:

Superb EDSF
Fairly Precious EDSF
Morning Rose l/s

P.S T's got the fluidline reviews and swatches up.

This was probably asked and answered before, but I can't remember-what are the main differences between MSFs and EDSFs? I'm trying to figure out if I need an EDSF. [@]erine1881[/@], digame por favor!
EDSF-metallic, used dry, creamier finish, not used on eyes, more intense MSF-shimmery, wet/dry, powdery finish (dry), creamy finish (wet), can use on eyes, more subtle
Are the lippies going up in price? T says they are $16 instead of the normal $15.
They're $15

Specktra's giving me a hard time with the crashes so I'm just typing this up separately and pasting.

First off, Morning Rose is not frosted. Not at all. It does have an extremely subtle pearlescent effect in some lights. 'Just a hint. It is not such a bright pink like Venus or even Gem of Roses - it's more quiet. I was all gung-ho about it, but mostly in natural light. Steel Kiss on top of it is beautiful and made me completely cave.

Here's the thing. I just tried all the Huggables yesterday and there are some very similar colors. The Huggables tend to lean a touch brighter and a touch pinker than the similar Magnetic Nude shades. In the case of Morning Rose, Out For Passion is MUCH MUCH more like Venus or GoR. If you are looking for a Venus replacement, but without that slightly pearl effect you got with it, basically a GoR texture (more or less) but a Venus color, that is the one you will want.

Same thing with Carnal Instinct. It's really beautiful - just a little less deep than Subverted, but if you'd rather not have a frost, Rusty Huggable is gorgeous and very similar - just a teeny touch more red/berry in the undertone. Since I already have Subverted and Show-All (which Carnal Instinct is like a cross between), it's a no brainer for me to get Rusty instead, to have such a great color in a new texture. I'll write up my opinions of the Huggables later, but suffice it to say, it's a really high-tech, impressive formula that's super easy on the lips, can be worn a few different ways and is very "fountain of youth" as far as lip lines and general effect against the skin goes. Oh, and T's swatches that I've glanced at are WAAAAAAY the hell off this time out. They're much more accurate in her Magnetic Nudes swatches, FYI.

I'm still going to get Morning Rose, but it's not a vibrant color. It's a subtle color for a very subtle effect. You may really want to just check it out in person first, wait for Out For Passion if you really want something like Venus, or skip it entirely if you do not do well with greyed out colors. I'm serious about that last bit. It doesn't look grey, but it has got a ton of grey in it for a pink and it's not going to be so hot on every skin tone. 'Just trying to save a little disappointment here.

I guess "Close Contact" remains my definite buy for this collection. I'm tempted by "Morning Rose" because Temptalia compares it to "Sunny Seoul" which is my favorite ever pink lipstick, but I really don't see the similarities so that'll be on my 'maybe' list. I also looked over the EDSFs just because I'm very curious and don't own any, and "Superb" really is gorgeous, but I can't bring myself to spending $30 on it. Maybe if it's in stock I'll shell out for that one instead of "Morning Rose"...who knows! But yeah, still mostly excited for "Close Contact"! :)

Haha Liba I just read your post! I might do just that - skip on "Morning Rose" (since you say it has a lot of gray in it) and wait for the Huggables to come out. I'm really curious about the formula on those, and then I can pick from a whole range of colors and find something that calls to me more. =P

Ok so off first impression swatches, I think fairly precious isnt going to look great on me as it's quite a yellowy peach. Autoerotique looks to be a nice colour but it depends on the UK price. I should probably skip it as ive not got any ed stuff but from what I've read the blushes aren't that good with colour payoff. Plus as I don't own any ed products I should probably not start! Carnal instinct is a yes, kind of reminds me of barons rose?

After seeing the swatches. I think I'm gonna try to shoot for getting Fairly precious for sure. Possibly morning rose, and close contact. The lipsticks might be a skip though.

Thanks so much Liba.

I am definitely getting Morning Rose sounds perfect for me and I am still waiting on swatches of Steel Kiss. I think I can get away with just those two.

Another thing I ran into when I re-tested all the Magnetic Nude stuff yesterday: I was trying to make up my mind about Autoerotique and Pleasure Model. Did I want both or just one? I really wanted to narrow it down because the blush shades in this collection are all very subtle, natural colors with a very natural finish. They're for the "no makeup" makeup look, all the way. I decided that rather than getting both, I'd just try to determine which one was the most flattering and natural on me. I'm NC15 (although lately my skin has been changing and I'm not a perfect NC15 like I used to be, mostly due to age spots…I'm sort of an N15/NW20 mishmash now). Autoerotique ran pinker on me, like a subtle warmish berry pink, and Pleasure Model was more of a true warm nude with a touch of apricot undertone. Pleasure Model was the winner. I just found it much more natural and sexy, while Autoerotique looked like grandma cheeks or something. If I want to wear noticeably pink blush, I'd rather have something that really reads pink, rather than being a super subtle flush style…it's the difference between wearing a neat blush color and just looking like you drank some booze. I guess you could call Autoerotique a mega-toned down Flaming Chic. I love Flaming Chic, and I also LOVE At Dusk ('might actually back that one up this time, since my original At Dusk is now totally flat!), but Autoerotique just isn't quite as nice on me, compared to Pleasure Model. I've got other blushes in the family of Pleasure Model, like Amber Glow and Alpine Bronze, but those are much more sparkly and also lean a touch more orange. Pleasure Model isn't totally without a warm cast, that could lean orange on some people, but it's got less of an orange danger zone to it and ought to be less problematic than some other warm nudes out there. 'Still, I wouldn't call it the best color for an NW person with red cheeks - could get more orange on someone like that. I think if I had to rank all the more gentle, natural EDBs for my tastes, At Dusk, Pleasure Model and Bareness would be my top 3. If you have deeper skin, Autoerotique might possibly be the better bet, but if you prefer a warmer color, PM will have zero trouble showing up - it's pretty pigmented for a natural color, but you will have to layer it on if you want a very strong effect. Like all the other EDBs, the emphasis is on gentle, natural and not in your face. For the record, when it comes to MA vs. FP - THAT one I couldn't choose a favorite and am getting both! MA is in the same boat as Glorify, but it's so much more wearable and all-year round, like I was saying. I know that Glorify is going to get sent to the back seat for me, with MA around.

Morning Rose (almost a pass for me, but I know it's going to get tons of use) Steel Kiss (love it, but not BU'ing for now) Oh My Darling (I love this particular lip glass finish and don't have another pale pink lipgloss with it, so it's on) Magnetic Appeal (kicking Glorify down a notch) Fairly Precious (now I can enjoy the Shell Pearl look at last, without the powderiness) Pleasure Model (it will be used a ton and will bump Alpine Bronze down a notch, which is saying something) Silver Dawn (like an EDES version of Gazette Grey - one of my favorite greys of all time, very flattering color and deepness) It's Physical x 2 (This one is just so beautiful - T's photos don't even do it justice) Our Secret (Just as beautiful as It's Physical, but warmer toned and with less of the sheeeeeeeeen) Maybe Chilled, just because it actually was a nude that stayed nude looking in my waterline. Except it's not technically waterline-rated and I don't think I'd bother using it anywhere else. It'd be a bit of a specialty thing for me, not the sort of thing I'd pull daily. I did like the other lipsticks and also Overspiced lipglass (doesn't settle in lip lines, which is impressive). Hellbound and Platinum Love too, but I just don't need 'em.

Thank you Liba for your thoughts! I love reading what you have to say. I am now wondering if I should get Rusty from Huggable vs Carnal Instict. I wouldn't wear a frost that often.

Thank goodness, swatches are not hyping my list, actually narrowing it (for once!)

skipping all the lippies, I am pretty sure I have dupes or near dupes
FP EDSF for sure, MA is too orange
PM blush is too orange, skip and I think the orange MB from last year is close enough, Fresh Honey was the name, I think?
AE blush is a MUST, swatches remind me of Peony Petal only in the EDB form, which I love!
IP and OS fluidlines, skip the frosty silver one, esp, since I caved and got Pisces from RiRi
AA and SD EDES are coming home with me.

So, thats FP EDSF, AE EDB, IP and OS fluidlines, AA and SD EDES thats six products (only) out of 26, not bad!

I'm thinking of getting a few items from this collection … the Magnetic Appeal Skin Finish, Pleasure model blush, Overspiced and possibly the Steel kiss gloss. Carnal Instinct lipstick (possibility) And Amourous Alloy eyeshadow … this never ends … sigh!
