Idk how far it goes, but she has made it pretty obvious that she no longer likes them all that much. She often gives lower rating for their products when they don't deserve those lower ratings and apparently, she now prefers the ridiculously overpriced brands. I still like her though, her swatches are the best imo...and she is to blame for my MAC addiction and for me finding Specktra.I don't know about any beef she has with them lol but she has posted swatches of MAC product (Caitlin Jenner and Retro Matte Liquid Lip) today and this weekend so who knows? MAC did post a whole set of product swatches on their Instagram Instastory thing and some videos where the actual artists behind this collaboration talked through the products and what not but unfortunately since Instastory videos only last 24hrs the ones I saw are now long gone.
I totally agree. My wallet is crying. Also, I love you avatar

I'm gonna throw my 2 cents in, regarding the lack of swatches, colour stories and all that jazz... It's to stop a certain Instaidiot from leaking things. And from what we're seeing, is that MAC will be keeeping their cards (or this case future collections) from being leaked.
That is what I have heard as well! Brands have been complaining that the earlier-than-they-wanted sneak peeks and info leaks have caused them financial loss and in some cases they have been forced to launch products earlier than they had planned to deal with premature demand. The same "Instaidiot" caused some brands to stop working with a lot of bloggers as well because there was no way they could enforce their confidentiality agreements and non-disclosure agreements properly. Vicious cycle just to get some likes and follows on IG *smh*
It is too bad... I, too, looked forward to swatches and previews and made my lists way beforehand, then spent days stalking. Now, it is all so meh.
I also hate that T, who started basically as a MAC blogger, now gives priority to every other brand than MAC. She has posted swatches and reviews of the latests collections when the products are already for sale!
I believe you are both right. I understand it, but it's still annoying that now a product will just suddenly appear for sale. I enjoyed the journey, if you will. The anticipation of new products. And for those on a tight budget, I imagine advance notice would be helpful in planning their purchases.
This was due to happen at some point, especially after reading that open letter to the Instaidiot last year. I definitely would not class her as a blogger, and translating emoji to English is a pretty difficult job... Especially for those that love using native/second language to write with. Emoji isn't a language, they're a bunch of smiley faces like the webdings font.
The reason VV has started posting, is because it's a week before the collection launches. And for those who aren't aware, I'll find the open letter and post it on here... Or someone else will.
EDIT: Found the open letter, but please note this one was amended. If anyone can find the original letter, please post it...

Have you got the link? Would love to watch it.Oh I do too especially with living overseas and not having the ability to touch and swatch myself before hand, these previews are what push most of my purchasing choices. That said, this social media culture that is prevalent is filled with people who are more concerned with getting limited edition products before every one else, even if it's something you don't actually want/need and persons stealing pictures so they can get more followers/likes etc. The result: a lot of customers leaving brands they were otherwise loyal to because they just couldn't deal with the nonsense. Unfortunately for MAC and the like, the limited edition craze gets you quick money and you reach your projected income target for a while but it's not the best for maintaining business. I have noticed that collections launch (especially with the higher end brands) with nary a swatch or sometimes even a list of products that will be available. It would be great if the brands could find a balance where we still get information early but which wouldn't generate the false hype that results in quick sell outs and product hoarding and generally promoting the Ebay sharkdom lol.
I think I watched the video of another blogger with the same thing.

On the same boat, as there are no WOC bloggers in the UK (I think). So I have to depend on Ashley's swatches (she's NW43+), fellow Specktrette Kifana, Karen and everyone else when it's released on your side. Majority of the time, it's a blind purchase. Unless I go in store and swatch for myself.Same for me. I have to rely on swatches and reviews for my purchases because I always buy online. So I expect a lot of (mostly MAC) mispurchases in the future if this stays the same.
