IMO, a no-return policy would hurt those of us whose only way to try anything for ourselves would be to purchase it online. Using myself as an example: The nearest Ulta and Macy's are 2.5 hours from me. The nearest Macy's with a MAC counter, as well as the only Sephora in my state, are 6 hours away. US drugstores and whatnot don't have testers, of course, and rarely have samples unless it's a new product, usually a foundation. I really wish companies would especially sell foundation samples online. (A couple of larger companies do this already -- Sleek and Face Atelier. And, of course, smaller brands who sell on Etsy are good at this.) Would that add in costs? Of course! But for those like me who don't live anywhere close to a counter, it would be a godsend.I wouldn't have a problem with a no-return policy as long as I've had the opportunity to try the product myself. For foundation, that means I want a sample so that I can put it on myself (the way I wear it, not sheerer or more heavily), see it in natural light, make sure it isn't going to oxidize on me or break me out, see how it holds up over the course of a day, etc. That's easily done with MAC, Clinique or Sephora brands. For colour products, I want to be able to try it on and then go outside and see it in natural light. That's what I do with most other brands but can't always do with MAC. I don't return very much from MAC (last item was Instigator) and would return even less if I could try it on. If MAC changes their policy to no longer allow returns but increases inventory to a reasonable level so that I can try before buying, I have no problem with that. If they maintain the same really low levels (often 3 to my local counter, which means I have to buy online to have a chance of getting many items) and don't allow returns, then I simply will buy other brands. I'm not willing to play roulette with my money because they like to play the hype/LE game.
Nothing. Since it's not out until May, and we're currently in the middle of February, it's going to be a while. So please excuse my ignorance but have we actually heard ANYthing about the contents of this collections? Is it only whispering and murmurs about it just being repromotes? Can't a squirrel get a nut?
Nope we haven't really heard anything! That's why there's nothing being talked about lol. I know one person said there's whispers about a repromote and macys exclusive. That's it. I'll be mad though because mac keeps saying NEW collection based around the film.So please excuse my ignorance but have we actually heard ANYthing about the contents of this collections? Is it only whispering and murmurs about it just being repromotes? Can't a squirrel get a nut?
She threw her cards at you?!?! We would have been fighting. I've worked retail before, and I almost came to blows with this customer who cursed me out, lied on me, then tried to touch me. This was all because I caught her and her friend trying to steal jeans. They had to draaaaaaag me back to the break room because I was about to drag her. Retail is not for the faint of heart. People are crazy.Seriously!! I worked in jewelry for years and there was a customer who would exchange every time right within the time frame! And we always knew when they walked in. No one wanted to help because each month you'd have a big ass return to recover the next month. It wasn't hard to recover as most of us were good at sales, however that's 4k I didn't have to make up before. They weren't the worst though... The worst was when a lady had the audacity to through her credit cards at me! It was an unfortunate situation but one many Americans find themselves in and it's not the stores fault. They had bought jewelry, and he lost his job a few months later. Obviously the company isn't going to take it back months later. And to tell me off because of it, is ridiculous. IMO there's far more bad customers than sales people. Normally a firm no will do with sales. Customers you can't do anything about. The worst customer job I had was working at a car dealership...service....yikes.
That's surprising. I go to the MAC store at King of Prussia often and they've always been amazing! I'm nowhere close to KOP but always make the trip just for the great experience. The service (imo) is A++. One of the workers even let me see and swatch the Punk Couture collection WEEKS (and I mean it) before it came out. Hopefully you'll love MAC again soon.screw mac cosmetics horrible horrible customer service mac makeup artist need to learn their ish. Let me start by saying I am a well educated person and I never make moves without doing my homework. I had a mua tell me I could not do back 2 Mac with new collection. Also I then was informed that I could not back 2 Mac Pro palette eye shadows. I have always back 2 Mac those. I'm done with Mac from now on I'm only buying Chanel. I'm over Mac I have been having too many bad experiences. King of Prussia Mac and Mac at Nordstrom are horrible with customer service. Mac has lost a loyal customer. I hope you fellow sisters join me in boycotting Mac. Mac quality has not been there lately. Boycott
Ok- thanks! I was wondering if I had missed something importantNope we haven't really heard anything! That's why there's nothing being talked about lol. They aren't losing money or they wouldn't let you return.
They have figured it all out and must have found that people buy LE like madmen (women) and if they get returns it's still worth it.
Totally understand, but people dont do it on purpose.Actually the mac threads about certain collections are suppose to stay relatively close to topic. While people naturally chit chat and venture off, you are suppose to make a thread on that. That's why there's different sections called mac chat, off topic, etc there's a lot of forums. So it's okay if someone politely asks for a new thread to be created. Especially if it's taking up pages. They shouldn't come and rip anyone's heads off though Edit: I will add people can do whatever they want. But it's just to keep things organized and confusion down. I always go off topic lol
Pro pan shadow and blush refills used to be B2Mable, but they are no accepted as part of the 6 returns. I will listen to you. I didn't know that. I did it like a month ago and they took it. I wish I knew. Thank you for educating me.Pro pan shadow and blush refills used to be B2Mable, but they are no accepted as part of the 6 returns. It's been that way for awhile now.
Yeah I didn't care. Lady still had to make her payment lol and I still swiped that card! I felt bad for her until she got pissed that I wouldn't return it and started dropping f bombs on me. Customers can be crazy! It's like okay I'm letting you tell me off because I'm in sales. No I won't go out of my way to help you. I hate that some consumers think if they yell and scream they'll get their way. It's much more beneficial to be nice. Some stores won't let you b2m for new collections. Mine doesn't the first week it's their store policy. Shitty thoughShe threw her cards at you?!?! We would have been fighting. It's been about a year and a half now. Sometimes you're able to slip things by by accident if they don't know.I will listen to you. I didn't know that. I did it like a month ago and they took it. I wish I knew. Thank you for educating me.
I know people don't do it on purpose and that's why I asked politely. When people get off topic for pages they might not realize it has taken up pages already and think about creating a new thread. So I was just suggesting to create a new thread that they might enjoy a lot since the topic seems to be popular.Totally understand, but people dont do it on purpose.
Lol love your sense of humorSo please excuse my ignorance but have we actually heard ANYthing about the contents of this collections? Is it only whispering and murmurs about it just being repromotes? Can't a squirrel get a nut?
it comes from the complete absurdity of dealing with this life! Plus I was raised with a lot of dark humour- Thanks !Lol love your sense of humor
Since this is a summer collection, I'm guessing we won't have a color story until April or May.No color story still?
I'm hoping before May, at least very end of March/beginning of April, since it comes out May 15th...Since this is a summer collection, I'm guessing we won't have a color story until April or May.
