Re: Naughty Nauticals Discussion

Okay, Submarine doesn't look like Freshwater at all in the swatches! But it doesn't really look pigmented though.. :/ I think I'll have to compare Freshwater and Submarine and just pick one.

Mutiny.. I'm not so sure on now... I don't know how I feel about light blues. I might look weird with it. Bellbottom blue.... it looks really dark..

And Port Red? Wrong kind of red for me.
I think that about kills all my wants. I will know for sure when I look at them in real life.. but as it stands now.. I don't know if I want any of it.

Hmm the swatch of Bell Bottom Blue looks a bit like Naval Blue. I'd love to see a comparison. Submarine is so pretty!! Illegal Cargo looks kind of like the pale lavender colour from the Pandamonium quad and meet the fleet looks like it will be a brilliant crease colour. Love Knot and Ahoy There look really enticing as as well. This is a pretty good sized collection. I don't feel like I have to get *everything* for once, just a few bits to keep me smiling.

Thats what I was thinking too. It was bad enough having a Naval Blue/Blue Storm colour duplicate, the last thing we need is a TRIPLICATE.....

we have too many duplicates or very close matches as it is -
naval blue/blue storm
rushmetal/copper sparkle
jardin aires/dazzleray
grape/entremauve
coco/sunnydaze/subtle
burnt burgundy/smoke signal

seeing a trend.....

tinkerbelle2001 if you have blue storm and naval blue as well as the bell bottom blue can you do a comparison swatch for the 3 blue pigments please?

I have been looking more at the swatches and it looks like Ensign and Bateaux l/g are a tiny bit more opaque and frosty while Love Knot and Hey Sailor look more sheer and sparkly. Tinkerbelle, is that accurate?

I think the reason that I am so disappointed in the pigments is because I was hoping for the same texture as the Antiquitease pigments. Your Ladyship and Sweet Sienna are two of my favorite pigments EVER, They go on so smooth, and I love the micro glitters.

Port l/s looks like a very subtle frost like some of the recent frosts I got from other collections. It also doesn't look overly warm in the picture and now I am wondering if I can wear it. I can wear Fresh Moroccan so maybe I can wear Port???? I am going to have to look at it.

Party Mate, lustre (Creamy neutral pink brown)
I guess I'd describe it as a deep, raspberry pink with silver particals.
This picture is way more accurate than MACs Product pic

I'm loving the lipglasses, but the shadows look prety bleh to me. And I was so hoping Bell Bottom Blue would be more royal than navy. Ah well...MAC's too expensive here anyway/

Thanks for pictures and swatches, Tinkerbelle! If you got them in Amsterdam now already, there is a chance that we will get them in Stockholm with the release in beginning of May, instead of three weeks later!

That's what happened with the BPB's, anyway.
Still not sure what I want, missed Shore Leave, but will probably get that one anyway, just because it's a veluxe pearl.. and illegal cargo, of course!

Hey Glamqueen1, the collection isn't availeble in Amsterdam yet, the items Tinkerbell got came from the internet. I'm afraid us, European countries will be last in line as usual

I don't want to sound rude but the swatches for the shadows didn't really help much with determining how pigmented they are. But I do thank you for taking the time in swatching it for all of us, its helpful.

But I feel that the shadows weren't swatched well enough IMO. :\ It was just like a light finger smear of color on the hand. I am sure they are more pigmented than what they appear in the picture. I was really looking forward to the shadows and I still am, you can only judge it when you actually see it for yourself. Im still keeping an open mind about it.

Pigments are divine! I am getting all of them.

The lipsticks are my fav as well especially the red and nude looking one.

I am not fond of lustreglasses tbh but the gold one caught my eye.

O and the red nail enamel is lovely.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

I keep putting off getting Freshwater, and I kind of still want Submarine, partly because of the LE factor, so I'll probably get it anyways.
And I am still really on the fence about the pigment. I think I might buy samples of them first and then if I like them, I'll commit to a full jar since they usually stay on the sit for a few months at least.

Oooo after seeing the swatches of the pigments I want to scream with exitement!! haha
th_DANCE.gif
except I'll skip Lark About and all the eyeshadows which doesn't seem that special.
Now I want most of the lustreglasses, how do they compare to the lipglasses? I don't like the lipglass formula as it dries on my lips within 15 minutes and becomes sticky. Are lustreglasses better?

The texture and color of freshwater is awesome. I highly doubt that Submarine will be better or even the same in quality.

...you do realise that she was in no way obligated to take those swatch pictures for everyone, right? Try being a little more grateful that she took the time and effort to do them in the first place.

I look forward to the time when you contribute some swatches to the forum. Give instead of take.

Even if they are different, I am only going to make myself choose one. I keep putting off Freshwater as well. So once this similar LE color is here... I can just pick on. I find I've been building my colors off of LEs... so yeah... I'll choose between the LE and permanent color this time.

Re: Naughty Nauticals Discussion

after seeing the swatches im sure i want bell bottom, mutiny, and lovely lily pigments. im still not sure if i want lark about pigment. As for the shadows i love meet the fleet and that's about it for eye products. submarine looks similar to freshwater, illegal cargo seems very light, i wasn't considering getting pandemonium since it's a lustre then again as some said earlier that it seems like a pretty light application of the shadows. I'll probably go in though and swatch the shadows on myself to really see what i like when the collection comes out. as for the lip products im only really loving the nude colored lustre glass and lipstick but im not big on the lips so i may just skip the lipstick at least.

Re: Naughty Nauticals Discussion

The swatches pretty much confirmed what i had already decided on! I will only be picking up illegal cargo e/s and lovely lily pigment, but i've added bateaux lustreglass onto my list!
