I wonder what could be in the other two parts if the eyeshadows ARE included in Neo Sci Fi. I'm so curious..

In 2006, with Lure, Bait and Hooked, it was a 3 part collection, all launched on the same day. Lure was the color collection (eyeshadows, fluidlines, etc.) Bait and Hooked were much smaller collections - one a bronzer collection and one a skincare collection.

In 2007, there was Moonbathe and Sunstrip. Moonbathe was the color collection and Sunstrip was bronzer, charged waters and TLCs.

I think for 2008, Neo Sci-Fi will be the color collection with the eyeshadows, lipsticks, lipglasses and polish, etc. and Solar Field will probably be the bronzer part of the collection with Future Earth probably the skincare part of it. Or maybe bronzers and skincare may be grouped together and the bags will be the 3rd part. I am just guessing based on the last 2 years of summer launches.

I only like the orangey coloured lipstick, so I MIGHT get that? Not sure though... The packaging is alright though

To the people who are in the know of this collection, are there any pigments included?

I don't mind the packaging but I'm just not as excited about this collection as I am with Naughty Nauticals, especially for pigments!! I hope they come out with some warm pigments this summer too, maybe an all pigment collection later in the summer!! Yum.

I do agree that the packaging doesn't really go well with the product colors though, it sort of clashes. I'll probably end up with a nail polish and a lipglass though, I'll have to wait and see with the eyeshadows but I have so many warm/bright colors that they'd have to be stellar.

I like the packaging but agree that in the pictures the packaging isn't the most appealing with the shades. I think in person I might feel differently about that though, pictures just never do products justice. Though I'm a little more excited about naughty nauticals (for the pigments), I think I'll get at least a lipstick form this collection (and possibly more once I see it in person).

about the l/g, they have different descriptions:
- Soft & Slow (Neo Sci-Fi) Pale beige with gold pearl
- Soft and Slow (Smoke Signals) Soft rose with gold pearl

but i agree! if they're gonna do repromotes then its better repromoting the older popular colors instead of recent or perm ones =/

I just want to comment on the packaging again.

I DID say it was fun and unique. I'm glad MAC tries different things.
I don't mind if people like it or love it, they are free to, just don't get me to try and like something I don't.
I personally don't like it because the color families clashed if you think of the color wheel. I didn't end up noticing the colors because I kept staring at the caps. The colors can be great, I can see them working for people, but as they don't appeal to me, nor are they colors I wear or care to wear, I personally won't touch this collection. But to those who will and love the packaging, or can put aside their dislike for the packaging to get a fabulous color, more power to them.

And I personally loved the Heatherette packaging the first picture I saw. Ahaha, so I AM open to lovely and different packaging, this one just personally doesn't do it for me. XD My OPINION, I repeat, opinion, is that I think it's not well thought out, it's a gimmick, clashes, and is a little tacky. But hey, MAC is known for being over-the-top sometimes, so it suits MAC fine, even for those who thought Heatherette was tacky, that's fine too.

Packaging DOES matter, whether people admit it or not.
Humans are first and foremost visual people.
Nice packaging is what attracts people. How many times have we heard people complain that the "pretty packaging pulled me in, made me buy so many products that weren't even that nice of quality and I regret my purchases?" We have heard it A LOT, it wasn't about the make-up then, it was the PACKAGING. I said it about Fafi, it made me buy things I regret, because the PACKAGING sucked me in. (Not the stickers or cheap packaging, but the Fafinettes lol)

Packaging also gives an impression of the quality of the product as well. Many people were put off by Fafi because of the stickers and the lipstick packaging because.. despite the make-up being MAC, the packaging felt cheap.

Packaging cannot please everyone, I know that. However, sometimes the packaging is aimed at a certain audience, age group, gender, race, etc. There has been correlations to these findings, there is SO much more to it than just make-up, no matter how good the product, how it is packaged is going to attract a certain audience no matter what. Maybe I am just not the audience the Neo Sci-Fi is aiming at. (Yes, I know MAC is aimed at all genders, ages, and sexes, but there is still a certain appeal of different types of packaging). Fafi seemed more aimed at the teens and tweens with all the glitter, sheerer colors right?

So I don't think it can JUST be about the make-up and not the packaging. I don't think even half of us would have used half of the make-up brands we do if not for the cute, sleek, or sophisticated packaging.

i'm curious to see if there are bronzers and if they will be repromotes or new colors.
Crossing my fingers for a burnished orange/copper.

The three part collection should come out May 29th in the US.

Who has got more information about the whole collection? Which eyeshadows or blushers can we expect and will there be bronzers? (there must be bronzers!)

i don't think the packaging is as atrocious as many people are making it out to be. and to say you will not be buying anything solely based on the packaging... come on. mac has consistently made quality products. they have a rep. for that. that is the reason people buy from them. the color of the packaging is irrelevant.

that aside, i don't mind the packaging and will prob. end up buying a few things when i see the colors in real-life.

I'm going to definitely get the orange lipstick. Everything else will be decided on the day; there's no point in me deciding definitively what to get now because it's always so different when it's actually in front of you.

I agree 100%. I like the orange and I love when MAC does something other than the black packaging. I may buy very little from this collection but it will be because I don't like the colors or they don't work for me. I was not to crazy about Heatherette packaging. I loved the pink but hated the little glitter sticker, disco ball thing. Packaging is important but it's not everything. I love Kiehl's but they have the most boring packaging in town. I don't buy their stuff because of the way it looks, I buy it because it works.

I know I'm not the only one who doesn't buy stuff if I don't like the packaging. At this point it isn't like many of the colors are totally unique from the MAC I already have, so I *do* pass on stuff that I like if I don't like the packaging.

The orange in and of itself doesn't bother me, but I'm in total agreement with several posters who pointed out how badly it appears to clash with the color of the product.

I can't wait to see this collection in person. Mac always has great summer collections. I don't care what color the packaging is...it's what's inside that counts.
