Re: Neo Sci-fi, Solar Field, And Future Earth

so probably no X-Rocks mauve blush for an NW15 like me? I guess Spaced Out was a far better choice....I want to see these in person so may take a trip tomorrow and see if they did release early at my counter. Just afraid I may love a polish and start hauling again!

CRAP! I just got an e-mail from MAC, the bare necessity d/g is out of stock even though I ordered....dang it. I was so looking forward to that colour.

Audrey - I think that we have similar coloring so I was wondering what you thought of the X Rocks Blush? Did you think it was too dark? It looks so pretty, but I just don't know! I also want Spaced Out but I already have Alpha Girl & Joyous and they seem to be pretty similar. Please help!!

What else did you order? I will be honest, the orange packaging isn't so bad. It still hurts my eyes to look at it, but it's growing on me. Please note that I have removed the "hater" status from my signature.

I wanted to mention a few things too. Naked Space is NOT peach on me. There is no peach/orange tone at all. It was BEIGE. Seriously, reminded me of Bonus Beat from Heatherette. I know all of the swatches I have seen it shows more peach (which I would have loved) but it wasn't anywhere close on me. Pink Grapefruit, on the other hand, showed mostly a dark coral orange, with not much pink.

Hmm, in that case, I may skip Naked Space. I already have 2 Elaborates and I hardly wear those - I would put Naked Space in the same category. But I'm still very ingtruigued by Pink Grapefruit. Good think the lip stuff I'll wait to see in person.

Now a thought just crossed my mind. How close is Magnetic Fields to Saturnal (from Moonbathe)? Audrey...Erine...anyone?

I was tempted by the mauve blush, I after chatting with the MA, we decided it could look a little muddy/dirty on NW15 unless you use a REALLY light hand. It looked pretty sheered out on my hand, but I was unsure so I passed. Honestly, I think that Spaced Out will be one of the first things to go and I think that X-rocks will stick around longer. I guess that is why I didn't feel the pressure to buy right now. The texture is hard to pass up though. Sorry you couldn't get Bare Necessity... I can't either - my counter and store are both sold out

audrey, do you think Spaced Out blush similar to light flush MSF or pink bronze pigment at all?

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE the packaging. I also definitely got more than I planned to... So far, I picked up pleasureseeker, sici-fi-delity, electro, pink grapefruit, evening aura, spaced out and solar riche (which I decided I liked more than refined golden). Future Earth wasn't out yet (I'm curious about the volcanic ash exfoliator) and I'm sure I'll end up getting Magnetic Fields at some point.

I'd like to say that Electro is very hot on its own and even hotter with pink grapefruit over it! I LOVE that combination!

Barbieh4, I'm an NW15-or-lighter and I think I could pull off X Rocks blush, but it isn't something I would reach for quite often. If you didn't use a light hand, it could get too dark, but I wouldn't say it's unworkable. I looooove spaced out, though. It's duochrome is FANTASTIC.

Heeeeeee. Totally the highlight of my otherwise crappy day.

Ok, I did like the X-Rocks blush, but I don't think it will be the best choice for cool toned girls. It would have to applied with a VERY light hand and probably with a skunk brush, and even then I think there is alot of risk for a muddy color. It really isn't what I would call mauve. There isn't much pink, more of a brick color, if that makes sense. It is so hard to describe. The next time I go to the counter, I am going without blush, so I can try that one to make sure I can pass on it. It is really pretty, but I am not sure it is right for *me*. As far as Alpha Girl and Joyous compared to Spaced Out... Completely different. I just swatched them (but can't take pics cause I have no batteries for the dang camera!) Alpha Girl is very light and has alot of pink tones to it. I don't have Joyous, but I do have Hipness, which I have heard is similar. Again, alot of pink tones, and it is more of a coral color. Spaced Out is a true peach with some orange tones (not in a bad way) and swatched, you can see the duochrome, which again, isn't bad or over powering. It is definately unique, and I am glad that I added it to my collection. It is different from every blush I have

I don't have Saturnal, but from what I remember, Satural had green tones. Magnetic Fields is pretty different from everything I can remember. The description says blacked brown, which it is, but it has sparkle and is more complex than just brown. I think it will look great paired with other browns/oranges/peaches, and I can even see pairing it in the crease with plum shades. The MA swatched it on her hand today, and it looked almost like it had a VERY slight purple tone. Not significant enough to make it look obviously purple, but it was there. I am anxious to play with this one!

Naked Space was definitely beige and not peach on me, too.

I just swatched all three. Light Flush is lighter, has more pink and is more frosty. If you have Pink Bronze, take away the metallic-ness, add a little orange, and make it more opaque, you have Spaced Out. I just swatched each on a fingertip, so swiped on my hand they may look a bit different, but I think they are all different enough to own all 3.

OK, that makes me feel much better, because I just ordered it! Besides, I don't find Saturnal is all that easy to work with anyway...it's a b*tch to blend.

Re: Neo Sci-fi, Solar Field, And Future Earth

I just went back online and ordered the 3 other Solar Bits I hadn't before, simply because it's such a unique item. Someone (not sure who) said that the one I purchased (Scatterrays) is actually the most difficult to work with so I grabbed the rest.

Did any of you buy these?

saturnal is a dirty olive green. not even in the same color spectrum of magnetic fields.

I played with the solar bits today and had no love for them. The lighter ones could be ok as a cheek highlight, but I easily passed on all of them. I'll stick to pigments, thanks.

Well I went to Nordstrom today to buy the exfoliator and to make sure what I ordered last night wouldn't be a disapointment when it comes. Well, they didn't have the exfoliator!! (I personally think god hates me!) But wow! all the stuff is gorgeous. I ended up buying Pleasureseeker, I didn't think I would like it, but wow! gorgeous summer color!!

So with my online order, I got...
Electro
Pleasureseeker
Magnetic Feilds
Femme Fi
Evening Aura
Spaced Out
Refined Golden Bronzer (I just wanted the orange compact)
& Hopefully soon I can get the exfoliator.

I definitely think pleasureseeker is a great grab-and-go colour.

And I really love the lipsticks and lipglasses can you guys recommend two of each you think i should purchase from this collection that would work great on my skin. thanks!

I think pink grapefruit would look good on you, and if you want a nude brown lip, Astral l/s plus supreme.

I am staying away from Evening aura myself, because I think it would only good as a highlighter on my NC45-NC50 skin.

I went today and a lot of stuff had not arrived yet-all the eyeshadows but Time & Space, Electro and one of the other lipsticks, and the exfoliator. I got Sci-Fi-Delity-I cannot echo the Pleasureseeker love because it barely shows up on me, whereas Sci-Fi-Delity is my grab/go colour. Pink Grapefruit is frickin' amazing. It's one I could see myself buying multiples of. Then the girl tried Spaced Out on me and I liked it. I'm very subtle when it comes to my cheeks and this is a good way to ease me into cheek colour.
