interesting how it sounds like a lot of counters/stores are missing part of the collection---maybe this was released too far in advance--though only by a week.

Re: Neo Sci-fi, Solar Field, And Future Earth

I went to the Mac on robson and they didn't have the neo-sci-fi out yet. Sooo annoying. I really wanted to pick up the spaced out blush. They said they haven't received all the products and it will be out tomorow. They did have the Solar Field out though and I played with the solar bits and they suck! They feel moist at first which is kinda cool, but then they feel super gritty and chunky with crazy fall out. If they were smooth, I think they would have been awesome but they're not.
If anybody has spaced-out, please post a FOTD! lol.

Re: Neo Sci-fi, Solar Field, And Future Earth

just got back from checking everything out @ the store, here's what i thought:

Magnetic Fields - gorgeous, gorgeous blackened brown w/ flecks of silver. love it. much different from mulch which is a shimmery dark brown. i got this for sure.

Time & Space - not really sure why this is described as "copper," it doesn't look like it. looks more like an antiqued brushed gold, gorgeous. it's what i hoped woodwinked would have looked like. i may go back and get this. which i have a hard time justifying, since i already have woodwinked and the 2 look slightly similar (woodwinked has a tinge of some color that i dislike).

Evening Aura - a lovely frosted creamy peach. i picked this up.

Expensive Pink - i already have this and i adore it. yummy shimmery peachy pink. i like to pair this w/ bronze or romp in the crease. good stuff.

Femme-Fi - blah, another highlight color...

Black ore - the only solar bits worth picking up imo (and my mua also agreed). a great mix of black/gold. it seemed to go on with less fallout that the other solar bits. a define keeper

sunpower had a ridiculous amount of fallout. scatterays & bronzescape had less fallout that sunpower... bronzescape was noticeably beautiful but i have more that enough colors in that range.

Pleasureseeker - nice sheer peach w/ a hint of gold shimmer. i also picked this up.

Electro - hmmm... orange. tried it on. didn't like it. looked extremely dated/old school (just like an older lady i saw wearing wearing it in a dept store).

the other l/s were ok. nothing too exciting.

same with the l/g... naked space was indeed beige. i liked it but i get a similar look w/ fresh brew & saplicious.

X-Rocks - not bad at all. a little darker that i like my bushes to be.

Spaced Out - on me it looks like light flush msf (which i already have).

i definitely enjoyed checking out these collections. the colors and the looks they created were great. now bring on cool heat

I ordered the lip exfoliator stuff separately from my Neo Sci-Fi items online yesterday (by accident - I forgot it!) and the lip exfoliator has shipped but the Neo Sci-Fi has not, so I'm thinking they may not have everything in stock yet either!

I probably should have taken pictures before I played with them, but in any case, this is what I bought:

Oh, I agree with the above posters!!! Just got back from my Nordies & others excursion...so much freakin fun....I think i'm on a buzz from my Vanilla Latte
smiles.gif

First of all...one of the most exciting things for me was that I hung out with 2 of the awesomess MAC artists!! (MAC wasn't even busy yet!?) and, they were GORGEOUS & SWEET! We chatted about everything...just like with you guys
smiles.gif
It was funny because one of the MA said, "oh, I logged into Specktra first thing this morning!"....wow, was I so jazzed - then we really started yacking...new collections "OH, did you see the pictures of such & such collection" blah, blah....MAC, blah, blah. Then we looked at earrings together real quick
smiles.gif
HAHA

Anyhoo, I'm glad I got everything that I ordered! Pleaserseeker, imo is beautiful, soft, pretty peach. All the shadows met MY expectations including Femmi Fi - exactly the shade I was looking for. The others, just as pretty - but I love those kinda shades.
Spaced Out - Subtle, but beautiful. If you already have a fave. peach, I'm not sure you'll want to get this. But, it is pretty. However, the shade really works with the whole collection.
I did not get any of the lipglasses...just didn't excite me...I'm lovin the Dazzleglasses more.

They did not have the exfoliators either - BOO!

I did buy the 311 lip brush to use/try as an eyeliner brush as one very talented Specktralite showed us in her FOTD.

Oh, & for the Solar Bits...love the Scatterrays on...its dramatic, but pretty! I put it over some deep browns/peach. Fallout didn't seem as bad as black ore. *smiles at SMMY*

*note to gigglegirl* - you'll be safe with Evening Aura - it will show up. It is a very soft but very pretty light to medium peach. Pretty!

I'm still on the fence about Electro l/s. I really want it but I don't know if it'll look good on me.

Do you girls think someone who's an NC35 with pink undertone can wear it? I really need to finalize my list before going to MAC on saturday...

zee package made it safely, I see.
I've got my Neo Sci-fi must haves on order, but still want to check out the collection this week. I'm hoping that Spaced out works for NC25ish me.

Gah! Now I wish I ordered overnight. Such anticipation.

I am glad you are happy with your haul Elegant-one!

I am thinking of getting the other 3 shadows that I didn't get to see, and probably 1 Solar Bits... did you purchase Scatterrays or just try it on at the counter? I am so bummed my Nordies didn't get everything. *sigh* Hopefully when I pick DH up at the airport (right next to the MALL
cheerleader.gif
) on Saturday they will have gotten everything in and I can finish hauling!

What else did you order? I will be honest, the orange packaging isn't so bad. It still hurts my eyes to look at it, but it's growing on me. Please note that I have removed the "hater" status from my signature.

I wanted to mention a few things too. Naked Space is NOT peach on me. There is no peach/orange tone at all. It was BEIGE. Seriously, reminded me of Bonus Beat from Heatherette. I know all of the swatches I have seen it shows more peach (which I would have loved) but it wasn't anywhere close on me. Pink Grapefruit, on the other hand, showed mostly a dark coral orange, with not much pink. Sci Fi Delity l/s is very pretty and not as dark as it looks in pictures. It is a midtone shade, and will be wearable for alot of people (unless you are like me and are afraid of such shades). Ok, I think that's it, unless I think of something else...

i am so glad i skipped naked space. and im so glad pleasureseeker is gorgeous

^SMMY - Spaced Out is pretty light. But, its hard for me to say how it would show up on someone else.

I think if someone just want to get a lippie & blush, or just a lippie & shadow they would be just fine with this collection. There is so much else coming up that I really wouldn't stress about this one. Pick out 2-3 things ya really like & you'll be happy

Aw thanks Audrey

I sounded more like I was really happy with my Vanilla Latte *caffeine spas*

A lovely & generous Specktralite shared a sample with me

It is very pretty on. It makes my eyes just pop. Some of the lippies & gloss were just a little too "burnt" for my liking.

I really wanted to like Naked Space...but it didn't do anything for me. I have others in that shade spectrum that I like better.

Re: Neo Sci-fi, Solar Field, And Future Earth

so whats the verdict on solar bits? very few I've heard have bought any. I'm thinking Black Ore is not good for me (not good with black anything) and don't want the fallout if it occurs later in the day after application.

So should would you guys get one or just get a pigment or shadow that looks similar? TIA!

I'm staying away from the solar bits. I don't like the texture at all. I'd rather pigments and/or shadows any day. The solar bits are pretty, but.

Solar bits are like Elizabeth Taylor back in day. High maintenance, but worth it.

Scatterrays are the prettist ones just looking at them in the jar. I think that they're more forgiving fallout-wise because they're so light. I know others disagree, but I wouldn't use these without a base - all that glitter needs a little glue, ya know.

I love both of your little comments!

I totally agree about SB Scatterrays! And, I thought I would be dead set against any more. I only tried it out on one eye - I can't stop looking at it. I just lightly patted a small amount right over my existing shadow today, just right over the eye - pretty & no fallout

I paired it last week with a matte chocolate in the crease. It looked so pretty. I mean, who doesn't love a little shiny eyelid now and then?
