The MA I talked to today said that she would use them as a highlight/contour not really an all over powder unless you wanted to go for a really shimmery look all over your face.

the natural part is meant to go over foundation or to be worn alone, which is why the natural side is larger than the shimmer side which is meant to highlight.

i honestly wouldn't use them to contour. contouring isn't an everyday thing for everybody, which is why mac pro (more pro oriented, but still caters to the general public) carries contour powders.

if you wanna use them to highlight/contour, you can. but IMO there are better products out there to do so.

very much so. you don't want to put the shimmer side all over your face. just the cheekbones, browbone, and temple. the only part you wanna apply all over is the natural side.

i would not use them for countouring neither
i will use the natural side to set foundation and the shimmery side (which is so gorgeous) to highlight and i might use both together for an ultra glam look when im going out....i think the sculpt and shape powders are better for countouring than these

(This might be a dumb question but that's never stopped me before

...What happens if you swirl both sides together with your brush? Is that like...shimmery face powder? I'm just curious.

I got the Light/Shimmer today and I cannot stop looking at it. It's SO nice, I might actually get a backup and I never buy backups! The shimmery side is gorgeous, I didn't think it was too glittery just a really nice slightly coloured sheen.

I just tried swirling the two together and they do go nicely, you have to swirl a little more on the natural colour side because the shimmery side picks up on a brush way more I found, but you do get this beautiful dewy look without it being too over the top if you're careful. Very subtle and pretty! However I still think the shimmery side would be better as just a highlighter. But it would work for both ideas!

Ooooh, I think I'm going to get a few of these tomorrow. I use the natural MSF's all the time on my bridal clients. I have light medium and medium plus at the moment, so will probably go for a couple of the darker ones. I can't wait!

Do you guys think this is a must have? I'm trying to budget everything and I'm thinking to cut this out. Is the shimmery side fab or should I just buy a regular MSFN when I have money?

I talked to my MA and although I wanted to pass them, she convinced me these would be lovely

Maybe one in medium as a highlighter for me?

I am not sure how i feel about these till i see them in person. I am nc43 which one would suit me? I remember when MSFN came out the MA reccomended medium plus for me. I use blot powder in Dark. I am more excited about the shimmer part since the MSFN are permanent anyway.

I don't think it's a total 'must have' no, although I love mine SO much, but that's just because I'm a MSF natural addict. I think it would be equally fine to buy the standard MSF natural at a later date and then when you have the money some sort of highlighter that's a gold colour for example Benefit MoonBeam or even a pigment, I find Provence works well and I'm sure Vanilla would too.

I guess it's just the convinience of having both in the one compact that makes this a little bit special.

I loovveee the 227 personally
Its great for packing on shadows to the lid, and also blending out the top of your crease color with your brow bone highlight color.

I mostly use it for face highlighting though, putting highlighters ontop of my cheeks etc etc.

Re: MAC New View Discussion

Totally agree! But minerals stuff are the hottest thing right now and everytime MAC comes with something that is "mineralized", there will be a huge craze. I won't blame MAC... Their mineralized finish do rock and I use it almost everyday

My other vent is that New View doesn't come in my shade, Medium Plus! Sigh, Maybe I can try medium or medium dark?

Or, I could just use one of the thousands of duos I've purchased from different labels.

I wish that when something AWESOME came around like Dress Camp that they would keep it in stock and not d/c it versus launching stuff like this that feels like a replica of stuff I've already purchased over and over and over. Sorry for the vent....

I usually wear Medium Plus, too, but Medium is a possibility as well
