Re: MAC Overrich Discussion

i'll prob only be getting about two of these. possibly antique green (i've been wanting a true teal shadow forever) and heritage rouge (i love burgundy and i don't own anything like it as yet). of course this is subject to change when i swatch them all in the store.

as for the rest they are not that unique except for the fact that they are metallic. i'll look for similar eyeshadows in coming collection, as pigments are on the expensive side and could essentially last a lifetime.

Yeah, I want more Jewel tones, that would be more original!

Imagine an amethyst shade?
Or a brilliant emerald?
Sapphire?!
FIRE OPAL. AHHHH. Would this even be possible?

Yeah, but a jewel tone I could use:
Sea Me colored pigment
Royal Hue colored pigment
Crimsonaire colored pigment

I wouldn't complain of the discontinuing of shadesticks then!

All the same, I want Antique Green anyways!

Does Heritage Rouge sound to anyone like it's going to be a reddish-purple with brown undertones? Sounds odd, but yeah.. brown pearl, dunno if it'll be the red I'm looking for.

So many of you girls said there were too many taupes and mauves in LE Pigments, but believe it or not, I am still waiting for one of those colors for me. So far all the taupe or mauve-colored Pigments have looked too warm for me, including Mauvement (just got a sample of it, and it was a disaster). Granted, there seems to be a taupe or a mauve Pigment in each freaking LE collection, but they´re all warm based, therefore they look the same to the girls that wear warm colors, but the people that only wear cool shades (like me) are still waiting for a cool neutral Piggie. Something like Shale, for instance.
From this collection? Heritage Rouge...Maybe, maybe. Again, comes the problem of "is it warm? is it cool?".

Interesting. See I see Sweet Sienna (and even Softwash Grey) as cool neutrals. Subtle looks kinda coolish on my skin too....have you tried all of those?

Re: MAC Overrich Discussion

So ... the upcoming pigment count ... there will be four new ones in Color Forms, seven new ones in Overrich, and let's not forget those bits and bits and bits in Solar Field ....

I'm gonna have to buy 15 new pigments before fall. Nearly $300. Yipes!!! (And yeah, I do need all of them, except maybe Royal Flush.)

I was trying to think of colors that I would really like to see. They're really running out of colors to make! But I would love to see Coco, Coco Beach, All Girl, Dazzle Ray and Sunnydaze repromo'd, along with the original Green and Blue.

I still think the reason that MAC doesn't do loads of bright colors for these collections is because they don't sell that well. I know we're all pigment junkies here, but the average MAC customer probably isn't willing to drop $19.50 on a jar of blue pigment (please see Naughty Nauticals). Time after time, the pigments I see show up at CCOs aren't the neutrals, but the pastels and bright pigments. That plus there are already a huge selection of colors from the Pro line available for customers looking for something other than the usual set of neutrals. Just looking at it from a practical business incentive, there is zero reason to launch colors of a product that won't sell well. We're lucky that MAC even does colors like Mutiny or Bell Bottom Blue, as I expect I'll see both at my CCO soon.

That's true but the mutiny has sold like crazy. I've had to place many overnight usps orders from MAC to keep it in stock for my buyers. I've lost count on how many jars of it I've sold. The other colors in the collection havent sold 1/2 as much as Mutiny and some of my buyers have told me Nordstroms close to them are out and waiting for more to come in.

Someone mentioned about more cool tones of the taupe's, browns, ect.. l'm the same, I look better in the cool tones more so the warmer ones. I've also noticed I wont try a color at times due to it looking just like another but when I eventually do I end up loving it!

hmm... i've never got the chance to see the frost version of silver pigment in real life, and isn't it very hard to find these days? (also, i wonder how it compares to soft washed, cuz i wish soft washed was darker)
and i missed the blue pigment (the original & then again the rr collection cuz i was out of the country) i've been looking for it, but with there are so many "well-made" fakes around, i'm deathly afraid of getting anything i've never seen before

so, yah, i really wouldn't mind if mac repromote silver (frost) and the original blue pigments (and the green pigment too)

Re: MAC Overrich Discussion

Sleepy head, I have the silver & green (frost's) if you ever want to Pm me. I love the silver frost compared to softwashed grey, mainly cause I like silver/grey tones that dont have a blue tone in them and the silver frost doesnt. Thats why I love sweet sienna, it's a grey with no blue tone. Your right the RR blue and macs original blue are very close, I think the "blue' is a bit darker/intense?? I love the green, actually i love all of Mac's original frost ones, Thats why I try and keep them in stock. Some of those older colors are the best. Wouldnt it be great if they brought back all the rare colors from the first 1-2 years of pigments being made

See, and for that reason alone...I'll probably go for the neutrals and leave the brights for a CCO trip. And even with the neutrals, I probably won't cave unless they're remarkable because by and far the majority of my pigments fall into the neutral category. Same with the Color Forms pigments. I'll get one or two I cannot live without and take a gamble on the rest at a CCO. I can save $6/pigment that way!

Re: MAC Overrich Discussion

Since I'm going to try and cut costs where I can (by waiting for these to get to CCOs) I think I'll initially get Museum Bronze and Blonde's Gold. I really like the looks of Antique Green and Heritage Rounge, so those I'll try and get at a CCO. I also like the looks of Vintage Gold, but I'm wondering how close this one is to Olive Green. I'll probably just wait for this one to get to a CCO, too. As for Copperbeam and Mega-Rich...those I'll definitely need to see in person. In my little mind I want them all, but realistically I know that Copperbeam and Mega-Rich are least likely to work on me.

I would love to have: (have mauvemovement already)
Blonde's Gold -
Antique Green
Vintage Gold -
Museum Bronze -
Mega-Rich -
Copperbeam -
Heritage Rouge -
But who really needs the whole pigment jar. I wish I could just have half the jar and I would be happy. Then you are splitting the cost, makes it easier to afford) All my friends dont buy Mac like me so
ssad.gif
I guess I wont be able to do that unless I find a trustworthy person to do it with

I WANT THE ALLL

I usually gage how well a collection is doing by how quickly things start selling out on MACs web site. I'll bet you lunch that both Mutiny and Bell Bottom Blue are at my CCO before Christmas. I think because pigments are so huge an amount of product, that people don't really want to pick one up unless they think they will gets loads of use out of it. So bright colors and pastels tend to end up at my CCO in larger quantities more than colors like Sweet Sienna and Subtle. This has been true for the last three years that I've shopped at my CCO. I can't tell you how many containers of Off the Radar they had there, compared to one or two jars of Jardin Aires.

I can imagine how many off the radar there were/are. Jardin Aires sold like crazy while my off the radar didnt. I'm actually selling more of it now then i did when it came out.
