it takes a little time. i does not work right away when mac sends email
The UPS tracking number I got in my shipping info email isn't working... when I try to check it, all I get is 'UPS cannot find information for this number'... thinking of giving CS a ring in the morning. Ugh, mailing issues give me the worst kind of anxiety.

Lou, in terms of free radicals, using an old p/p (or any old cream product) is similar to going to bed with your make up on. And yes, there are other factors (genes, smoking, UVA/B, stress, nutrition, etc.) that contribute to wrinkles, but free radicals is certainly one of them. If somebody still has p/p from 2007 or 2008, truth is that this person probably did not like the color that much, otherwise the pot would be empty. Enjoy them while they are new and fresh. If you don't use p/p every day, only have two open at the same time. If you are in love with a p/p color, buy a BU (or more) so you can replace them on a regular basis. The chances are that by the time you have to toss them, there will be new p/p. E.g. I'm just about to toss the Cham Pale ones (B2M) and I'm super excited for fresh PP p/p. I still keep two (unopened!) Chilled on Ice in my beauty fridge, which I will use at a later date.

I don't mean to scare anyone, but most people only think about wrinkles until they discover the first one.

Do you have a link to an article that explains this? Not that I don't believe you, but just trying to educate myself. I haven't been able to successfully google anything that explains free radicals cropping up in makeup products.

If they are really unopened, which means you have not opened them to look at the color - even not for a second ;-) - I would say they last at least two years, possibly even longer, especially if you store them in the fridge.

If you opened them, I would toss them (B2M) after 6 months as the product will slowly begin to oxidize and you foster free radicals on your skin (= deep, unattractive wrinkles over time). I don't even want to go into what kind of bacteria will grow in p/p if you keep them much longer. And yes, this also applies when the product has not changed color or smell. If that happens, then it's waaaaaay over due.

Now, that's just my opinion, and each person has different standards.

Look up scholarly publications such as the International Journal of Cosmetic Science and look for keyword combinations such as "free radicals" and "ageing." Go to Google Scholar (not just Google) and do a search. If you are not affiliated with an academic institution, you probably can't access most articles, but you can at least read the abstracts. Enjoy the learning experience.

One of mine says the same thing. I have a feeling it is on their part because they received such an overflow of orders. But please let me know what happens if you call to inquire. I may have to get in touch on one of my orders, too. Phooey! It won't be a 2 day delivery, that is for certain. :(

The 2nd Day order is a bit misleading. It just means, that the order will be processed on the same day the order is placed if your order is received by 3:00 PM EST. Orders received after 3:00 PM EST will be processed on the next business day. 2nd Day orders may require a signature upon delivery. Once this has happened, it will still take 2 - 3 days to get to the final destination. So if you order on Monday morning, there is a good chance you receive the product on Wed/Thu. If you ordered Monday after 3pm, you probably won't get it before Fri/Sat.

Hello!

From the color descriptions on mac website I was under the impression that mattene Unknown Pleasures - Deep red blue could be similar to Viva Glam I and that Seeds of Desire - Deep brown plum could be similar to Viva Glam III? Anyone could give an opinion on this? Or maybe they are similar to other shades on the permanet line? Thanks!

Thank you, I placed an order for Seeds of Desire.

It is unfortunate that MAC does it that way. I use Amazon Prime, and when they say 2 day shipping that means I get my items in two days from when I placed my order.

Temptalia has her Paint Pot swatches up, and says she's now working on the Mattenes

To be fair, at least it is in their policies and you can read it before you commit to a specific shipping method.

True. And that is truly my only complaint with ordering from MAC is that their shipping and turn around times are not as fast as others. I have always gotten good service from their web store.

I learned that on regular days, i.e. non-launch days, standard shipping arrives as fast as 2nd day shipping.
