I have a question that's off topic.. But has anybody tried prep + prime natural radiance? And if so, what do you think of it? I read mixed reviews on makeupalley so I wanted to hear your opinions :)

It's a great primer for super oily skin! The reg P&P is great for normal to dry, the P&P Protect is great for sun protection, and the NR is great for the oilier ski types out there. Plus it gives a glow without coming off oily. Don't ask me how it does that, but it does.

Thanks Erine! I have combination skin with an oily t-zone and it's hard to find a good primer. With the primers I'm using now, my makeup doesn't last as long as I would like. I'm gonna try it out :)

Sure thing! Get a sample first if you can to see if you have better luck than you've had in the past, cuz it ain't cheap!

Alrighty :) I've never asked for a sample before so I'm not sure what the policy is on that.. But I trust your judgment so if not I'll just buy it

Just go in, and ask "i was wondering if it would be possible to have a sample of the P&P NR? I've tried a ton of different primers and have never had any luck, and before i fork over $40 for yet another primer, i would like to make sure it works first." Easy peasy! Some locations limit the number of samples they give based on the history of how customers have asked for samples or how customers have abused the availability of samples, so as long as you're polite and honest with them, there shouldn't be a problem. And as long as they have sample cups in stock.

Awww  Believe you me. I had my fair share of customers that routinely came in asking "can i get a sample of SFF? My colour is blah blah blah". And i immediately recognized their face as the same person who threw that same line last week, and the week before that, and the week before that, and...and whadya know, all of a sudden we were suddenly out of sample cups! If you know your colour, you don't need a sample! But when someone wants to try a new foundation after wearing the same formula for many years, or wearing a different brand, or has sensitive skin, or is just unsure of how they're gonna like it, i would offer them a sample before they could even think that we gave samples. There's a difference between trying before buying, and using and abusing, and artists can tell the difference real quick! So as long as you're honest, is aaaaaall good!

Hahah oh lord I can only imagine how annoying that would be. Selfish people like that ruin privileges for others. I understand not everybody can afford MAC but there are cheaper alternatives out there. And you just reminded me I have to get colour matched again because I'm finding that my nw20 SFF looks orange on my face , I think the artist matched me incorrectly..

It's unfortunate, but that's what happens. That's why i don't buy YSL or Chanel, cuz i can't afford it. But I'm not going up to those counters and asking for a sample of foundation every week, and making it obvious that I'm being scamming them out of their product. It's the same damn thing as buying a product, using it all up, and taking the empty (or almost empty) bottle back, and saying it broke me out, i didn't like it, or it was the wrong colour. Uh uh honey, ain't nobody buying your story! :nono: That's why i wouldn't be able to work for macys or sephora or any other store that has a return policy that allows customers to return empty products. But i digress.

I tried it a while ago and I really liked it. You think it would not work for normal/dry skin? I loved how it makes skin look glowy.

It works on all skin types, but it's best suited for oilier skin types cuz of the oil control. Over time it may over strip dry skin.
I'm nc30 and it doesn't lean pink on me at all!
Ditto for my NC20 skin. It's definitely pink compared to soft ochre, but it's not pink on the skin. It matches my skin perfectly.

That's good to know (regarding samples) I always fear they'll think I'm trying to scam them or something so I never ask, but I've been wanting to try some of their mascaras. A small sample of anything is better than buying it and returning it used right after because it didn't work. I have a friend that would always go back to Sephora for more samples of Makeup Forever HD foundation, it was so embarrassing!

Yup, it doesn't look too good on me either, because it's darker than my skintone. Bought it and never really used it. I think I might try the Edward Bess e/s base.
I love the Edward Bess one. It lasts awhile too. I have had mine many months and use almost every day.

Definitely go in there sans mascara and ask to apply some! That way you can wear it around and see how it wears/curls/smudges/flakes. All of mac's mascaras claim to be resistant of all those, but that's an impossibility. As they don't have mascara samples (those mini zoomlash and zoomfast mascaras are testers, not samples), there's only one way to sample em, and that's to go in there and try em on!

I think that is depends on your skin tone if it leans pink or not.
I mean my skin is so light that colours look more intense on my skin. (like if you are testing something on a clear white base the colour comes off more intense.)
For example Rubenesque looks Rose-Gold-pink on me whereas on a deeper skintone it just looks golden-peach.
I used before Painterly on NC30 and on NC35 skin tones as well and there was no pinkiness at all. I think the depth of the skin tone "absorbs" / couneracts some pigment.
I hope I explained it clearly...
