this might be helpful if you are considering PLW concealer
I use nw20 around my eyes and nc20 for my face. both are perfect match
anyway I got a little bit of a tan last summer, barely noticeable and nw20 was just too white so i ordered nw25
it's so dark, unbelievably. difference between nw20 and nw25 is huge . i am sure mac messed this up

here is my comparison

What do you ladies use to apply PLW concealer?
I use a combination of the Sigma P88 brush and the MAC 286. The 286 is a miracle brush for me to make sure everything is blended. A MUA at the MAC store sold me on this brush and I have been in love with it ever since for concealer.

I apply it with my fingers and then blend it in with my beauty blender.

Thanks for the tips! I'm going to look into these brushes.

not sure if anyone has seen this yet.. close up picture of stormy pink PP with photos of the model wearing it on her eyes but it is very diffused. i want swatches alreadyyy

Aww, I really wanted to love stormy pink, perhaps it's just what they did here but she looks ill...I'm hoping as long as you don't put it underneath the eyes (like it looks like they did) then it will still look nice! Thanks for the link though!

Also..Layin' low and Caramel Coat look almost identical to me...looks like I'll have to decide in-store!

I finally picked up the PLW concealer. The SA gave me NC30. Would that work for under eyes? I'm normally NW25 in select cover up and NC40 in foundations.

I would've stayed with the NW25 :dunno:
I was thinking the same but they were out of stock and I didn't want to leave without a concealer haha. Maybe I'll swing by the other mac in the area and see if they can exchange for an NW25. Thanks Erine for answering all my Q's ;)

Get matched first tho, cuz PLW does run a bit tricky, but it should work for you ok. When i tanned to NC30 i was using NW25 in SSC, so since PLW runs a bit darker, NW25 might be your colour

Between Painterly and Soft Ochre which one would you guys recommend as a primer for an nc44?

It depends what eye look you're going for but for a general primer, I would go with Soft Ochre because it has more yellow tones in it considering you are a NC shade as opposed to Painterly which is pink toned. HTH :)

Yesterday when I was researching about the difference between soft ochre and painterly I found a blog that talked about the differences among the two. The blogger basically said that if you have one you dont need the other but she specified that Soft Ochre is good for neutralizing bluish discoloration on the eyelids and Painterly is good if you have a lot of redness.

I would disagree on that. I'd say it depends on your skin tone. I have very light skin, NC-NW 10 and Painterly was a huge error on me. It is really pinky (red based) so it made my eyes look reddish, like if I was crying before. My friends asked me all the time if I was tired when I used it.
So I gave it to my sister (NC-NW15, 20 in the summer) and she hasn't got this problem at all.
Soft Ochre is a big fave of mine, it counteracts reddness really well with its yellowish colour and my eyes look rested.

I have to disagree too. Painterly being slightly pinkish would not help with the redness. Soft ochre being yellowish would camouflage redness much better

I have Nubile and I maybe used it two times. I don't see why is everyone so crazy about it :(

Yup, it doesn't look too good on me either, because it's darker than my skintone. Bought it and never really used it. I think I might try the Edward Bess e/s base.

Yeah I thought of that since Painterly leans pink, it makes sense that it would only emphasize pink
