I do not like it when they do such close up pics of the swatches

This is my BIGGEST gripe with Allura's swatches.

Omg mac chat totally made shit up! Nothing from this collection was used in that promo! I agree, i was gonna say cranberry on the lid, with maybe swiss chocolate in the crease. :dunno: As for the lips, maybe angel??? Do you want a red purple or a blue purple? Pencil, liquid or cream?
That seems like a really good guess to me. Why did they lie? If I remember correctly, they used cranberry for the apres chic collection promo and were up front about it. Seems weird to me.

T's swatches convinced me that Layin low is my next purchase. Sadly, I still have to use a primer under these :( or they crease but its a nice shade for a base!

They need to sell the collection of course! It's one thing to use one product that's not in the collection, but to do an entire look using products not in the collection is a whole other story. So the claim to use a whole mixture of products to achieve the look. Remember the office hours promo image? That lip most certainly wasn't what they said it was! :nope:

I have barely used my one PP (Eclair) so far, and I don't want to end up with too many cream products open, so althought there are a few of these that I'm interested in, I'll take my time getting them. Stormy Pink and Camel Coat are top of the list, Layin Low looks good but maybe too warm for me, and Perky is tempting me. Clearwater is pretty but I definitely don't think I'd get enough use from it to justify it.

I ordered Stormy Pink and Tailor Grey. I also got Rubenesque to use as a base for Melon pigment. I want to swatch Camel Coat and Layin Low before I buy. I saw some prior comparison swatches on someone with a similar skin tone for LL - the two closest are Painterly and Nubile, both of which I already have, so I may skip LL altogether.

Do the matte paint pots make better bases than shimmery ones? The only paint pot I have is Bare Study and I find that it makes a decent base (over primer). I love the look of several of the new ones (Tailor Grey, Camel Coat and Stormy Pink) but I have no idea if they'd work well as a base or be better off used alone. If they'd make a crap base I might as well skip them because Bare Study creases on me like a mofo unless I have some powder e/s over it.

TIA
