So beautiful!
I'm going to try this as well. When I apply Instigator and PC they come out so dark and patchy even after exfoliating my lips. I may applied too much with my heavy hands lol . Thanks for these pointersMy guess is that you're probably over applying a bit, based on what you're saying about them being so dark (as well as patchy). The color on these doesn't get super dark unless you're putting a lot on. I wouldn't use a lip brush except to touch up the edges - I find using a brush with these causes drags and patches, even if you're trying to be careful.
Just do a light layer on the lower lip first. Don't worry if it's patchy. Then do the upper lip with a normal layer and a light hand, going deep into the underside of the lip. By the time you're done with that, the lower lip will be set up, so do another layer on top to smooth it all out well but don't worry if some spots seem a little uneven. What happens is in a minute or so, after it fuses with your skin from the heat of your body, it will automatically smooth out some more.
Don't do the lip smoosh to blend with these and wait a good while before blotting too. Dark colors take longer to dry and set up on the lips just in general, although these are SO much better than most dark purple lipsticks.
