MAC - Semi Precious Discussion

As a lot of the products are quite similar, e.g. the MSFs, I think online orders will be less crazy than SB, especially as most of us blow quite a bit of cash on SB.

I checked with the MA at Saks yesterday and she said that they will get plenty of stock. I still haven't decided if I order online or if I simply go on to Saks of the FS store on the 7th. If I pursue the later idea, I probably get the products faster than ordering online, which took forever for SB.

Im just going to go into the store and buy because with this collection I think I need to swatch items for myself. Plus I want to "play, feel" the brushes before I buy them. I dont think this collection is going to be super crazy and sell out too fast .

You make a good point about feeling/playing with the brushes in person.

I tend to agree. The "mineralize" collection last year (In the Groove) was pretty slow-moving, even though it had a lot of hype around it. Other than Stereo Rose, of course... I don't think there's a Stereo Rose in this collection.

I'm happy that the MSF's are looking less puke-y and more gem-like.

yeah me neither - none of them look that special that one will have people going insane. i always think the mineral collections take longer to sell out because the items cost that little bit more.

Indeed, the price tag might be a deal breaker, at least for those who usually tend to buy whole collections. And this collection is huge.

Did anybody try the Charged Water before? I missed out on it last time it came out.

I must have 2 of the #234 brush. It looks like the 224 but more denser and I hope much less likely to spread or splay the bristles.

I am totally intrigued my Unsurmountable. That swatch looks like a light green taupe and I am trying to see how you get a green taupe out of purple and green, maybe it's just my computer.
The blushes aren't unique whatsoever but I love that they don't have shimmer.

I love swatches. I totally have

and a budget made out.

One thing is, the MSFs look a lot less glittery than usual - much more in the subtle sheen department than previously. The colors seem pretty neutral but I'm excited for these for a full face application. Don't think it'll cause a stampede, but I think when the swatches and reviews come out, people's interest will rise.

I like my 224, but as you said, the bristles spread easily. I hope that the synthetic side of the 234 will prevent that the natural side will spread too much. A split-side brush could - at least in theory - be a very useful innovation to prevent this issue. I just hope that no side will be too dominant and literally take over the brush.

I think most of us will appreciate the less glittery versions of MSFs. It's about time, especially as a sheen finish will make an all-over application more likely (and we might end up hitting pan sooner or later). That should be a good incentive for MAC.

Uh, yeah I wanted to mention that too^^ I thought about leaving a comment, but that obviously is not changing anything. Maybe we should post a link to that site on the blog the pics are from, telling her that people steal her pics.
