Pamela Congrats on the BABY!! I know you have been trying and you are so blessed right now....I know the job thing sucks but God works in mysterious ways I do believe ...and there is probably something better right around the corner.

I have jut finished with Fashion week and market. Fashion can suck sometimes.

Anyway, I am so happy style black is out. I am debating ordering online just because I love how easy it is and I can shop while "working".

I need help though!!
Definite list: All 4 MES, can not pass these up, grease paint stick and Baby goth nailpolish.
Maybe: Noctunelle and VAE.

THe Nocturnelle nailpolish looks very glossy, usually i pass on MAC polish but this one looks like a high gloss formula and that is hard to find. VAE i think I will pass, what is the point of falling in love with a LE product? Nothing.

What do you guys think??? Do I need?

I think your lists sounds perfect.....I have missed you!! But no Paintstick???

Well the guys I work with are very anti-pregnancy/children...I work with all men and they have always made comments about having me in front for "eye candy" for their customers. I always kind of had to roll with it b/c I needed the job. So I think they saw it as me not having that persona anymore and let me go. I have always went above & beyond at my job so I'm pretty mad right now. They said I could have 2 weeks to try and find a job, gee thanks-but then I had to go. On Monday when I told them, one of them said "Man, I would rather my wife tell me she *ucked some other guy than tell me she was pregnant, at least I could deal with that"
shockt.gif
Umm, are u serious? Couldn't you just say congrats?? Then the next day they let me go, hmmm
Any advice on what I should do?

I hope it all works out for you, and congrats on your little bundle of joy!

Texas is a really HARD state to file a lawsuit against for being fired...Because it is a At Will Employment State...meaning they can hire or fire you at will if they feel they have probable cause. Unless you can prove or have it in writing that he said...I am letting you go because you are pregnant, which is discrimination...then there is nothing you can do. Your employer just has to give you a valid reason and the one he gave you about business being slow etc...is a valid reason according to Texas law....Sucks I 100% agree but employers do it everyday and they use that exact reasoning...or they say they are restructuring...which is also considered a valid reason to lay off a person. And the key word is LAYOFF...they can lay you off because of lack of work...if he had said you're fired...then that would be totally discrimination....

I am so sorry this is happening...But your employer will NEVER admit it has anything to do with you being pregnant and will swear this had been planned weeks ago. I know you will find a much better job and be much happier because you are such a sweet person....

Hi, I had to jump in really quick. What your employer did is illegal. This is pregnancy discrimination and it's against the law unless you work for the government or unless your employer has less than 15 employees. You can go to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commision's website (eeoc.gov) and it will show you steps to file a claim against your employer. If the eeoc deems that the employer fired you due to the fact that you are pregnant, then they will contact you and let you know that you have a case against the employer. I would then suggest that you find a lawyer that specializes in these types of cases so that you can file a civil suit.

^^ Pamela....Please make sure you can prove that the reason he fired you was because you were pregnant when you call....You can't file Discrimination without proof....right or wrong....We can all assume and know in our hearts it is the reason but without proof ...there is no claim, period.

At-will employment is a doctrine of American law that defines an employment relationship in which either party can break the relationship with no liability, provided there was no express contract for a definite term governing the employment relationship and that the employer does not belong to a collective bargain (i.e., has not recognized a union). Under this legal doctrine:

“ any hiring is presumed to be "at will"; that is, the employer is free to discharge individuals "for good cause, or bad cause, or no cause at all," and the employee is equally free to quit, strike, or otherwise cease work

Ok sorry...I was wayyyy off topic

Face2Mac, this is my first!
I don't have written proof, it is just so odd b/c last time I was pregnant they started talking about letting me go and then within a week I had a miscarriage and there was no further talk of them laying me off. I work for a small company (5 people lol) so the eeoc had told me to call the human rights commission...

you think a pregnant chick can rock style black??

I want to go back to the drunken makeup game after you guys get the Greasepaint stick
winks.gif
Then we can talk about what color it is (after you drink) all over again.

Oh, & then you'll be able to apply it just like in the MAC video - after all, its not about perfection
lol.gif

I got the cutest MAC mailer today with the see through eyeshadow palette holes

Are the MAC polish formulas pretty good? I've never tried them but I've heard from a lot of people that they aren't that great. I'm thinking about picking up Baby Goth Girl.

Girl you can rock anything you want...and you will have a new job before you know it!! Screw those dirt bags!!! Good thing Houston has a lot to offer .....that is one positive as far as the job market!!! And no employer can ask you if you are pregnant and you don't have to tell them that when you apply...HIPAA medical privacy laws are a good thing!!!

^^ Thanks Tish, I was wondering about that..if I would have to disclose that I was pregnant, so that's a good thing. As much as it stinks I know it will be harder for me once I start showing so I can't sit around for too long. Thank you everyone for all your encouragement and support!

I think I will still get at least one MES, my husband just got a really big promotion so I think I can swing that!

They're alright...not as durable as OPI, but the colors are pretty. Baby Goth Girl was pretty in person.

Pamela ^^ No you do not....because of discrimination laws....a Employer cannot ask you about your medical specifics...so many were discriminating against people due to illnesses, cancer, AIDS ect...so no medical history current or pass can be asked by a employer
