I know we each have different experiences with it but for me, it doesn't have the staying power even over TFSI , which is how I use g/p. Sharkskin doesn't make my shadows stand out as much. BTW I think that g/p is especially awesome with MES or foiled looks...
I wrote this post on another board but thought i would post it here...
Why black GP stick=not like a smudgepot or paint pot, fluidline and shadestick
Fluidlines are not the same IME because they are more slippery/crease as a base and don't last as long. The gp seriously lasted all day over TFSI....12 hrs, and it would have stayed on, I know it would have, if I hadn't removed it at that time lol.
Sharkskin shadestick, when I use it(I have dry lids btw), even over TFSI, doesn't have the same density as the greasepaint stick and doesn't have the staying power. The color is also not as rich/pigmented.
Blackground paint pot doesn't have the dense pigmentation either and the texture is creamier....you have to really work it out/blend it longer. But the mineralize eyeshadows over it don't "pop" the way they do over g/p...
The black smudgepots are a lot drier than even paint pots and there isn't a lot of time to "work" with them before they dry on the lids. The texture is a lot thicker and more...dry feeling/looking than the greasepaint. They also don't apply as evenly IMO....and most importantly the black one doesn't "blend" as well (because of its dryness) with the eyeshadows...so it doesn't make the e.s colors *as* vibrant as the g/p does. I think it would take a lot more work to get the smudgepot to do what the g/p does with a couple of swipes/smudges.
I use an angled brush to apply the greasepaint as a liner and I use a 2 dollar brush from Target (studio tools smudge brush) to smudge it out as an e/s base.
