Glad to hear it from someone who's wearing this stuff now! Just from looks alone ITA and I can't wait to play with them. Foiled or not foiled, toned down drama or SUPER drama, liners or eyeshadows, full out glam or baby glam...endless options, and none of them suck!

This is very, very interesting because I just read this same excerpt from this latest issue of W Magazine!

(Sorry Elaine, I just had to bring the "Glamour" back and recirculate the cover issue featuring the FOTD that inspired another FOTD!)

I'll never go so far as to say that you've influenced a generation, but you've definitely... influenced a moment! That...is what High Fashion is all about!

You can be edgy, glam, and cool, not just at a night club, who cares if someone is looking at you weird if you're walking around with these MES smudged all over your eyes? That's what I plan on wearing, and people can go to hell if they're giving me funny looks because I know I'll be looking different and absolutely fabulous.

It's about HOW you wear it, not about making it wearable or everyday. It's about wearing it with confidence for what it's intended to be, DRAMATIC and over the top, in your face.

I seriously CANNOT wait for this.

When I wrote the feature headlines on Elaine's W cover issue it was days before things became tense in this thread...as Elaine will know.

I'm rereading the headlines now and can't help but observe the sense of prophetic undertones.

While I'd LOVE nothing more than to debate the finer attributes of High Fashion Professional Makeup with those who clearly mistake it for Clinique, Bonnie Bell, or even Avon cosmetics (with respect).

I have to ask myself...

...is it that time of the year again to politely remind those that M.A.C. has been the official cosmetic makeup supplier for all of Cirque Du Soleil's shows.

While I understand, and have felt deeply, the great divide between those two widely different groups who use M.A.C. products cosmetically, and/or tranformatively as I do with the latter.
I'm reminded at every other thread I read that I must wish, as I would wish for world peace and harmony, that these two groups will learn to respect and admire one another and live in constant celebration of our diversities.

I'm, not only, honored, but I delight in the fact that there are such lines being drawn in the sand with M.A.C. Collections such as STYLE BLACK!

I also dismiss any allusions that any leftover M.A.C. products found unsuitable for one's tastes will be ultimately utilized by teenagers posing as vampires wearing "fangs", and not the consummate Professionals in the Art & Makeup Industry!

May the bland, muted, and insipid curse of Estee Lauder be, FINALLY, broken with this - a symbolic arrival of a collection that evokes the vampiric conquest made by she who had taken the final possessive bite into M.A.C. in 1998!

What price vitality?

(God, I'd Love a dramatic 'n' satirical visual on this!)

I'll quote from M.A.C. Pro Online...just in case some forget it exists!

Head Makeup Designer, Nathalie Gagné, chose M·A·C products for the performance merits and staying power, enormous shade range and diverse range of long-wearing textures that survive the high-energy performances of the many theatrical, athletic and dramatic Cirque characters.

And to quote the Head Makeup Designer, Nathalie Gagné:

"I am passionate about designing makeup for our shows and I love the fact that I will be working closely with M·A·C to develop unique professional stage-products that will be worn by the most amazing artists in the world. This new relationship with M·A·C will be in constant evolution, in constant re-invention...and promises to enhance our field."

I have dry, sensitive skin and I like the VAE. A lot. Not to harsh, not drying. This is the only exfoliator I use. I guess this is something you have to try and see how it works with your skin.
And I so agree with the black mess the shower looks like for a short while

After seeing iheartmakeup's fotd, I am even more pumped. I hope the picture is a good representation of how the MES looks on the eye unfoiled, because something like that, I can probably get away with at work.

..not to say I won't still be rocking a more punk look on non-work days, because I will.

Beautiful gloss though.

they're glimmerglasses, not cremesheens.

I have to assume that Black Cream Cremesheen Glass turned into Blackware Glimmerglass. Blackware contains no 'glimmer' pearlized pigment effect and is quite comparable in coverage and finish to the Cremesheen Glasses. They just grouped it with the new Glimmerglasses for uniformity or some reason along those lines. So again, I'd just assume that Blackware is a black Cremesheen Glass just under a new label. I'm curious as to whether Blackware specifically has a sponge applicator or a brush, and what the Cremesheen Glass from those photos has.
