I think they probably discontinued them to boost sales... Once people find out something is discontinued, it becomes a now or never situation, and some people will go out and buy the shadestick that they were pondering, just because if thye don`t get it now, they may not be able to get it in the future.. Plus, once so many were discontinued, it almost increases their popularity as they are harder to find and people tend to somewhat miss them.. When they reintroduce them, people will not only excited for the fact that its a new collection, but àlso that their beloved shadesticks are back.. so people will rush out and get them... I think they are kind of playing off of the fact that people want what they can`t have...
As for the new packaging.. yet another marketing gimmick.. special packaging makes the product that much more special!! really, how many times have we seen our favourite products (not only makeup) repackaged and then introduced as New & Improved!
So very smart marketing on their parts, IMO.. cause they`ve won me over
I`m going to buy them all! well, the 3 i have seen so far...
but then again, I could be wrong.. maybe they have reformulated them.. and if they have.. that would be great!
