Red Velvet doesn't have to be in the form of a cupcake. It is usually served as a layer cake. It's from the Southern part of the US, and my favorite type of cake! It's mildly sweet and mildly chocolatey (there is cocoa powder it in), but they call it red velvet because they put red food coloring in it so it's blood red in color. Cream cheese icing goes on top and sometimes they then sprinkle crushed walnuts on top of that.

The MSF's sounds great, everything else... not so much. The lipglosses would be all mixed up after one application, I know it would drive me crazy because I would want the layers to stay perfect or at least be perfectly mixed together and it won't happen. I know, I'm a freak. lol

Speaking of cupcakes, it seems like in the US at least, their popularity is resurging. There is a new "cupcake boutique" in one of my local shopping centers and I walked by on a recent Saturday and the line was out the door and down the block! Everyone waiting to buy a cupcake and a cup of coffee. It was quite amazing, really, the amount of people I saw. Those cupcakes must be amazing, is what I thought when I saw it.

Actually true red velvet cake doesn't have any red food coloring in it. The red color comes from a reaction between the cocoa powder and the acid in the buttermilk or vinegar (depending on the recipe) and it turns the cake a brownish-red color. Although most red velvet cakes you find today to have a lot of red food coloring in them because customers have come to expect a bright red color.

Speaking of red velvet cake, all this cupcake talk made me really crave a cupcake, so I went and got a red velvet one from Starbucks on my lunch break. It was pretty good, but their chocolate ones are better.

* Sugarshot, Aquavert, and Stars n Rockets eyeshadows (now I just need to pick a 4th color and make my own quad)
* all 5 of the shadeasticks (but I'll probably end up getting maybe 2 or 3)
* Lollipop Lovin and Bubbles lipsticks
* both MSFs - I'm turning into an MSF whore lol

I'm excited about this collection as well. When there's a MSF involved, forget it. I'm a MSF whore too! That's what we need, a sign that says MSF Whore, or do we already have one?

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but I found this earlier. The model is wearing Bubbles lipstick.

Carolina Hererra - dramatic with softness. The inspiration of the collection was Booticelli and the contrast of black and white. So the look was of a strong eye and soft lip.
Eye: Smolder Eye Kohl was used along the lash and blended into the crease. Lucky Tom Eye Shadow was swept across the lid and under the eye.
Face: Sculpt MAC Pro Sculpting Powder was swept below the cheekbone to contour. Tippy powder blush was applied to cheeks and Blonde Mineralize Skinfinish was used as a highlight on the cheekbones.
Lip: Nude MAC Pro Cream Color Base was patted onto lips. Lip Conditioner was patted over. Bubbles lipstick was layered over the conditioner.

I hope I credited the information correctly.

Layered cake? Now I see the logic behind the tri-colored glosses (layers, people!).

Honestly, I can't see any color on her face besides the eye makeup and the cheek contour.

Maybe the angle/lighting is causing this.

Thank goodness I'm not into desserts or cakes, so I'm not tempted by all the food talk.

I wish the cupcake trend in the US would hurry up and come to my country. Then I can have good and affordable cupcakes!

I haven't come up with my list for this. I'm planning to get Cakeshop and try it out, and if I like it, I'll get more shadesticks. I've never tried a shadestick before. I don't like the uncertain feeling of not knowing when this collection will come here.
