Haha, I didn't even see this convo until now and when I swatched not too long ago I came to the same conclusion! Must be true! Ha! Whirl is a little softer I think. I don't know that I need either, I feel like I have colors like them.
I think Persistence is more cinnamon and not as pink as Whirl...though not as cinnamon as I imagined.

U could try Edge to Edge if you have it~ I use it to pink up many browny/greyish lippiesI wore Whirl today and it was awful on me. There is zero pink in it on my in NW10 skin tone. I don't have Whirl liner but I'm going to try it with Soar at some point and see if that helps. Otherwise I am so disappointed
