I went to my local Nordstroms MAC counter for some much needed retail therapy because today was just one of those days. I didn't realize that they released the collection until I got there, so I decided to see if I could pick up my pre-sale items which I ordered 2 weeks ago. But, turns out they lost my pre-order. They had my pre-order slip but no Marine Life, and I know that they put it away for me because I had seen the MUA put the items away in the bag for me. Somehow it got lost (or perhaps taken) in the stock room where they put away the pre-orders. The wonderful MUA's at my Nordies counter said they would look into it for me. This was the first time anything like this had happened at this counter. Hopefully they will be able to track one down for me.

I had ordered a Marine Life on Monday from the MAC website, because for some reason I just had this gut feeling that something would happen to my pre-order at Nordstroms, but that order had gotten cancelled as well.

I just dont think that Marine Life and I were meant to be.

I did end up picking up Temperature Rising (I will be using this item on my eyes instead, because it just did not look right on my lips. I talked to some of the MUA's and they said there was no mention of it not being eye safe. I've had it on my eyes for about 45 minutes and so far so good). I also picked up Weekend Bronzer (I am an NC35 - NC40). It is so lightweight and the color seems to work really well with my skintone. I also picked up Hipness, Splashing, and Flurry of Fun.

I was set on getting Marine Life because of the design and the hype, but when I went to the store and swatched it, my sensible self set in and I didn't end up getting it. It is really pigmented and the color is quite dark, so I knew realistically I would never use it. I ended up getting Life's a Breeze l/p, Flurry of Fun l/g, Hipness p/b, and Refined Golden b/p.

I have to say that the teal-y and pink reflects in FoF remind me of the pink-y and teal reflects in Snowscene l/g. Obviously they have different colored bases to the gloss, but for those that love Snowscene, FoF is definitely it's summer-sister.

Also, I am usually a pale-pink, demure finger nailed girl, but yowza, Scorcher n/p is *gorgeous* - - even with the pink/cool undertones in my skin. I love this color!! It is HOT!

I got my Marine Life totally by accident today. I was at the mall, and wandered into the fresstanding store, not expecting the collection to be out yet. I had my B2M's ready to go but left them at home until Thursday. Anyway, they had the whole collection out, and everything was still in stock. The MA's were telling EVER SINGLE customer that they only have 3 ML's left and they're going fast. Oh, and this girl called it a UNICORN!

Anyway, I beelined outta there to see if The Bay has put it out yet, because I wanted to use my Bay GC. I asked the girl if it's going out tomorrow, and she said yes, so I said I'd come back at lunch. Out of nowhere she asked me what I wanted, pulled it out of the drawer and said she would sell it to me, but not to tell anyone cause she would get in trouble

She even asked if I wanted a backup - must be a specktra girl

So I left with a free ML one day before launch. Piece of pie

I'm gonna have to do my B2M's for Lazy Day and Splashing tomorrow, and then I'm done!

one of my fav MAC counters had the collection and the MUAs were working on face charts. i got a little peak. I am sold on firecracker for sure. sweet and punchy is a little too yellow for my liking. i really love lucky green more, as it is more green. shimmermoss looks good with the collection on a whole. the bronzing oil is pretty nice, it gives a nice glow and is not orange-y at all.

i did not see the coveted ML, but that is fine by me. I will be there early tomorrow to check it out. the little preview to hold me over was all i needed today. The MUA confirmed ML was rather pigmented, so I may indulge. we'll see.

sooo my whole issue w/ this collection was that i wanted it before we went back to havasu again so i could totally look all beached out!

welllll just might be that i'm going there this weekend! soooo stoked if it happens. and since i'm see thru i'm off to spend 3 hours scrubbing my body down w/ coffee grinds, slapping self tanner on over and over and over and possibly over then drenching myself in lotion!

i'm excited and i'm hoping that magically my mom hands me 2 bills instead of one friday

I just want to say a huge THANK YOU to the wonderful girls who were lucky enough to get multiple Marine Life powders and are selling them at cost plus shipping. I was one of the unlucky ones who thought I had ordered in time from the website only to get the backorder and eventual cancellation notice. By the time I called my counter - the only MAC available to me in a 100 mile radius, they had already sold all their stock in pre-orders.

Marusia came to my rescue - but it really is a wonderful thing to have such a great community here that helps each other out and looks after each other.

Marine Life is one of the few products I've wanted since seeing the prelim. information - overspray and all!
I still think the packaging is not that cute {ducks for cover from the tomatoes being thrown my way} and I didn't pick up much from the collection, because I am trying to shop my (already huge) stash more and really only pick up the special non-dupable things that I'll use from each collection. So I was especially bummed when I missed out on Marine Life. I give a lot of credit to you guys who could make a fortune from Evil-bay but are taking care of us not-so-lucky Specktra-ettes.
