the photos don't look very nice, but the reviewer said they're gorgeous....is there maybe something lost in the photography of these things? presumably they tested and thought about these seriously if they're making them perm....?

I get the feeling they are trying to mimic the Inglot Double Sparkle formula, (matte with shimmer). But MAC doesn't do buttery matte formulas unless their the MAtte2 ones, which leaves you this chalky mess in the swatches. >_<

In Edelmc link what collection is the mineral blush coming out in. I'm excited for that shade.

Did you see the mineralize skinfinishes on the blog? Don't know if this was already discussed, but I wanted to know what collection would they coming out in? Thanks.

the style of the palettes looks like it's from the 80's.

Thank you Erine.... I should have looked deeper before asking.  lol.... I love the looks of these colors.  I am hoping I can use at least two of these on my NW 45 skin
No worries! Have you tried gold deposit! It's beautiful on deeper skintones! Based on the descriptions I'd suggest looking at Rio and Lust (if you can find one with more cranberry/less pale pink.

You are not missing anything.

I know a lot of MAC diehards think Carbon is awesome, but I personally disagree.

Carbon is just too much work for a black e/s for me. Yes it can darken the crease, but if you are looking for the darkest matte black, look elsewhere.

There are many MATTE blacks that are so much more pigmented and true black than Carbon. I didn't figure that out until I had bought Carbon in the single pan. Then I bought a quad with a Carbon in it, actually I may have three Carbons because of MAC always putting them in quads.

Sugarpill has an awesome black, I don't own it but will soon.

http://www.sugarpillshop.com/products/bulletproof-pressed-eyeshadow <----- Awesome!!! Now THAT is a matte black.

NYX has a great matte black e/s as well, and I personally love UD Blackout. Very blendable and stays on throughout the night...no matter what fun you are having!

I have a confession to make.

I do not own Carbon. Why I don't, I do not know.

In the BeNeLux we have a drugstore brand called Catrice, from Germany, and they have a terrific black called The Captain Of The Black Pearl. It's black with glitter.

From Beautylab.nl

I use my lovely Sleek palettes if I need black, I have about 11 Sleek palettes (no one needs that many), and lots of them come with black :)

Quote: The Veluxe Pearlfusion shadows, too, are a gem of a collection with the 'slurrying' technique - this means the product starts off as a liquid and is then made into a powder - employed to create exquisite shades with various levels of concentration. 'Slurrying' is a technology that allows the eyeshadows to be used both wet and dry, with the colours being intensified when water is added. This Veluxe line affords consumers the option of choosing from myriad colour waves according to their moods and tastes from one small palette. MAC Cosmetics' executive director Isabelle Rovner explains, "The beauty of the formula is that you have a mix of textures, from soft pearly to very intense glitter. Each palette is a wave of colour that gives you multiple looks, from soft natural to super vibrant."

Hm, the description sounds interesting. But I still think I'm skipping these.

Booty.

I think they look like cheap drugstore makeup. I don't like these at all.
Exactly. Whoever said they look like those Milani eyeshadow strips, I totally agree. How are you even supposed to fit you brush in the pan without picking up other shadows? Looks like they were trying to avoid bulky packaging but still give ample product, but they failed a little on practicality/utility.

SKIP.
