I was thinking of getting a red lippie for my empties when I go to Tallinn in a week and can B2M there, because it's one of those nice to have things but something I can do without. So getting it for free seems like the perfect opportunity.
I'm not sure which one though.
Ruby Woo and Russian Red seem like good candidates.

ruby woo all the way! to me it is a classic red because it is matte. and it wears very well on the lips and leaves a nice stain on them. it can be drying because it's a matte but if you scrub and moisturise your lips before applying you shouldn't have too much trouble.

Veddy intriguing, indeed!
Though the clip showed us essentially nothing, I was glad to see the deep reds and purples.
I wonder if this is going to be another deep dark lips autumn ...

Not that MAC asked me, but I think this would be the PERFECT collection in which to repromote Queen's Sin *and* Night Violet.

I'm not a fan of the matte formula though, it dries out my lips like crazy and I already have on lip balm underneath.
I think you need to take into consideration the lipstick formula that you're looking at, as well as the type of red that you want (brown-red, blue-red, pink-red, orange-red, purple-red, etc).
A more wearable "red" is On Hold cremesheen. It's actually more of a raspberry/coral color, but it does give the lips a kind of reddish tint that's very pretty. It's as wearable as say, VG Cyndi, if you get what I mean.
Lady Danger is a pretty hot orangey-red color that's very loud and retro looking, if you can pull it off. I think it might even go with Temperature Rising lip liner.
Alright, I just talked myself into B2M-ing for Lady Danger.

It's a very classic and dramatic color, people always stare at me when I wear it.

My fave reds are; Russian Red, Viva Glam 1 (perfect brick red), Port Red & Queen's Sin. They're the only ones I have as well.

I wasn't super into MAC when CoC came out, I try not to look at it. I must say though, NARS's red lipsticks are ! Bloodwork gloss is like liquid lipstick more than gloss.
Now we've seen one quad I want the others to show up so I can revise my list!

This what I love about Specktra.
My sister has Russian Red, so I can try hers and wear it around for a day to see if I can stand the formula. But that is the type of red I am after, I think.
