I'm late getting to this, but I'll jump in anyway. Of the two you mentioned, I think Ruby Woo is the nicer colour, but it's dry enough that I have a lot of trouble getting it on. I'd go with Russian Red. it's a pretty lovely, slightly bluish-red, like a 40s-era screen siren colour.
MAC red is also good as is Viva Glam I. VGI is a little darker/ browner, but it makes a gorgeous night colour.
I find that MAC lacks glossier reds in their permanent collection. I guess there's not as much demand. If you want to try one, I recommend Cokney, which is a lustre, but gives a bright pop of colour. It bleeds a lot, so you'll need a liner, but I like it nonetheless. Its a yellower red, though, like a tomato red.
